UGC Encourages PG Students To Participate In RBI’s Financial Literacy Ideathon 2024

New Delhi: The University Grants Commission has asked Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) to encourage PG students to take part in the Financial Literacy Ideathon, which was launched on February 26, 2025. The ideation is being organized by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).

Interested students who are currently pursuing their PG studies from any UGC-recognised university or institute can submit their ideas on the subject 'Money Matters For Young Adults: Rethinking Outreach Strategies'. The last date to submit the ideation paper is April 15, 2024.

How to Participate in RBI Financial Literacy Ideathon 2024?

Interested students who wish to take part in RBI Financial Literacy Ideathon 2024 by following the pointers mentioned below:

• Submit an ideation paper on the subject 'Money matters for young adults: Rethinking outreach strategies' on the official email ID at flcfiddco@rbi.orq.in.
• Participants should mention their full name, university/ college, course details (name of course and batch), and contact details (email and mobile number) on their submission.
• The paper should be in PDF Format. 
• Entries should be original and unpublished.
• The paper can be 2,000 words long with a focus on how financial education can be propagated among the youth.
• The ideation paper must be in Hindi or English language.
• Only one entry will be accepted per student. 
• Content with plagiarism will not be accepted. 

What are the Cash Prizes for Winners of RBI Financial Literacy Ideathon 2024?

Participant's entries will be shortlisted based on their creativity, feasibility, innovation, and relevance to the theme. The final shortlisted candidates will receive the below-mentioned cash prizes: 

• First Prize: INR 1 Lakh

• Second Prize: INR 75,000
• Third Prize: INR 50,000

Informing about the Financial Literacy Ideathon 2024, UGC said, "As you are aware, the Reserve Bank of India has been undertaking many initiatives to promote Financial Literacy among various segments of the population. One such initiative is the observation of Financial Literacy Week (FLW). This year FLW was observed on the theme 'Make a Right Start: Become Financially Smart'”.
