Uttarakhand Government has decided to re-open classes for 10th and 12th from November 2, 2020. The students can attend the classes with a consent letter from their parents.
A total number of 3971 institutions will open in the state for the board classes from November 2, 2020. However, the students and staff have to follow the SOP guidelines issued by the state government while conducting the classes.
While issuing the Guidelines, Education minister Arvind Pandey emphasized the importance of following the guidelines for the safety of the staff and students.
He also added that the focus will be on the teaching format and the efforts will be taken to bring the students back to the traditional classroom teaching model.
However, students will not be given any homework and the focus will be on the Revision part. Online classes will also continue alongside in-person schooling.

SOP Guidelines:
The SOP guidelines to be followed by the schools include regular sanitization for the classrooms and school premises before and after the classes.
Sanitizers and thermals screening facilities also have to be arranged for the students and staff. They must wear masks and maintain the social distancing protocols in schools.
Schools have been asked to arrange multiple gates set-up to avoid crowding at the entrance and exit in the building. The number of in-person events should also be less in number.
Remarks from the official:
The decisions about the reopening were taken in a meeting that was convened by Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat on October 14, 2020. The feedback for the same was taken from the district magistrates, education department officials, and other stakeholders.
After this, the education Minister of Uttarakhand Arvind Pandey said, "The government has taken into account all aspects of COVID-19 precautions in the SOP issued for opening the school. From November 2, classes for 10th and 12th standards will start, but the students will be allowed to enter the schools only after written permission from parents,"
R Meenakshi Sundaram, Secretary of Education Department added "Students will gradually be brought into the mainstream after classes resume. Over the next two-three weeks, online studies and other educational activities will be reviewed. Students will get used to school life again."
