If you join DTU for CSE, you might miss out on the IIT tag and the exposure that comes with it. On the other hand, if you choose IIT Delhi for Electrical Engineering, you know that CSE consistently has a great placement record.

I strongly recommend considering IIT Roorkee or KGP for ECE. By choosing ECE at a top IIT, you’ll be well-positioned to land jobs at 95% of the top IT companies, and you won’t face any issues with placements.

IIT Delhi offers a highly reputed Electrical Engineering program with a strong emphasis on problem-solving and a more independent learning style, but the faculty-to-student ratio is a concern. The campus life is vibrant, with numerous clubs and events, although hostel rooms are small. In contrast, DTU's Electronics & Communication Engineering program has a more relaxed approach to teaching but still provides solid placement opportunities, particularly with tech giants. While both colleges have their strengths, I'd personally lean towards IIT Delhi for its prestige and rigorous curriculum, especially if you're passionate about electrical engineering. However, if you prefer a slightly more laid-back environment with decent placements, DTU could be a great fit.

Don’t be fooled by the notion that if you want better placements and a relaxed life, you should choose DTU.

Joining DTU was a huge mistake. Here’s why:

  • Useless faculty.
  • Weak curriculum.
  • Decent placements, but if you lack the necessary skills, they’re practically worthless.

IIITD is WAY better than DTU in all streams. DTU's brand value is fading fast.

  • IIT will always be better than DTU.
  • IIT is one of the top institutes in India for B.Tech.

So, the conclusion is that IIT Delhi is the best institute for B.Tech!

I believe that pursuing B.Tech Electrical Engineering in IIT Delhi is a smarter financial choice compared to B.Tech Electronics & Communication Engineering in DTU if you're considering long-term ROI. IIT Delhi has a strong reputation, which translates to better placement opportunities, with around 88% of students getting placements through campus recruitment. While the fees are high, the potential salary post-graduation typically justifies the expense. In contrast, DTU may offer a more affordable fee structure, but the student-faculty ratio and placement statistics seem less impressive compared to IIT Delhi. Therefore, if you can manage the higher fees, IIT Delhi is likely to provide better value for your investment in terms of career prospects. If you prefer a more balanced life with lower fees and are okay with a less prestigious name, then DTU might suit you better.
