How do the placements really compare between IIT Delhi B.Tech Textile Technology and DTU B.Tech Information Technology?

• Fees
• Quality of teaching

There won’t be any significant difference across these parameters, except for that tag mentioned earlier. And remember, that tag doesn’t last more than 2–3 years after you complete your course.

No! It's not worth it. Textile in IIT Delhi won't offer much. Plus, it will add to your workload during the courses. Nobody can predict the future, so you should choose the best option available now. By the end of the course, you need to have a solid degree and knowledge if you have the choice. IIT Delhi isn't as appealing as it seems. You'll realize after joining that it's not the right fit for everyone. Many have achieved great success from other institutes as well.

It’s definitely tempting to aim for the top 4 IITs instead of choosing a good discipline at a lower-ranked college. Getting into a premier institute has its perks:

• Good exposure
• Networking with ambitious peers
• Delhi-specific advantages: excellent coaching facilities for IAS, IES, and a vibrant city life

If you choose a strong discipline (like Computer Science, as you mentioned) and put in serious effort in college (just like you did for JEE), you can secure a good job. However, if you’re in Textile Technology at IIT Delhi, the chances of landing a high-paying job (10 LPA+) are relatively low unless you excel in something extra (like a minor in CS).

Regarding your MBA plans, you have at least 2 years to think about it. At this stage, it's tough to define your long-term career path. Even if you have a direction in mind, preparing for the MBA or CAT is solely dependent on your efforts, not the college you attend.

My personal advice: Go for Computer Science!
