About NIT Uttarakhand

It is situated in the valley of Uttarakhand having beautiful atmosphere. It is surrounded by mountains all around and Alaknanda river flows near to the college. The environment is very healthy around with no polution, everyone enjoys here.

I am currently persuing my B.Tech in mechanical engineering from NIT Uttarakhand. Institute carries out 2 mid term exams and 1 end term exams along with viva and class test for each subject each semester. Course curriculum is such that it meets all the industrial requirements. Since it is an institute of national importance we are provided with the best curriculum that develops the student at its best.

Companies visit the college for recruitments. Core companies along with mass recruiters visit the college. Overall placement is near about 50%. No the college don't provide internships rather companies visit the college to select students for internship through exams and interviews.

Feasible. Since it is a government institute the fees is minimal. Fees depends on the annual income of the family. Students having annual family income less than 1 lacks are exempted from tution fees (Rs. 63500) per semester. Students having annual family income more than 5 lacks have to pay full tution fees and students with family income 1-5 lacks have to pay 50% of fee.

College provides with the details of different scholarships and students need to fill them. FFE and Swami dayanand scholarship programs are the highlights. Education loans are provided by the banks. College approves the paperwork for the scholarships.

Labs in the college are excellent.they are equipped with high class machines and expensive equipments to carry out the project works. Classrooms are provided for all the extracurricular activities that are being conducted. Proper grounds are there for volleyball, football. Pool table and gym are available separately for girls and boys.

Yes, I have opted for hostel. Hostel fee charge is 12000 per semester. It includes 24*7 water and electricity supply. Rooms are provided with 1 bed, 1 almirah, table and chair. Hostel is equiped with badminton courts and table tennis tables.

Yes, Alumni help in placements they insure that the company they are working in recruits students from the college overall increasing the placement rate of the college. They also take session on industrial experience in the college providing us boost to our scopes.

I appeared in JEE - mains exam. After qualification and securing good rank, I filled my choices for colleges ( NITs and IIITs). I was allotted NIT Uttarakhand. On the admission day I was asked to produce all my details at the reporting centre.

Faculty of the college are highly qualified. Most of the faculty are having doctorate degree from highly reputed institutes and even from IITs. They are helpful and are available for any type of help 24*7. Although they are faculties but they treat us as their child. We love them all.
