Remarks
There are many positive as well as negative remarks about the college. Positive: The college is very good with well versed labs and faculties who have good knowledge about the subjects they teach Negative: The college is in the outskirts of the town, which means the travelling becomes too much
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is good and has few additional subjects which are basically a cherry on top for any BTech graduate. The exam structure is very simple: There are Mid Semester Exams which results to 20% of our total grades There are End Semester Exams which result in 50% of our grades The internal marks comprise 30% of the total grades. Each student must individually clear all three (Mid Sem, End Sem, Internal) to clear the semester
Placement Experience
The placements and job opportunities are good in the campus. The year I graduated, there were 41 companies only for computer science brach which had around 500 students. College mostly provides a remote internship associated with IBM There is no stipend for the internship
College Events
There were multiple events celebrated in the college. Events were: Cultural Fest: UPES Cultural Fest (UURJA) is a very enthusiastic festival organized by the students and college administration. There are various artists who come and play at this fest Techno-Legal-Management Fest: IGNITE the Techno-Legal-Management Fest of the university spans across all the 3 verticals of the university, School of Technology, School of Management and School of Legal Studies. There were others fests organized by individual student chapters in the college as well
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure to be frank is expensive. The current college fee is around 2 Lakhs INR per semester. I.e. 4 Lakhs INR per academic year. The fees doesn't include hostel and any other activity charges. For every examination a student receives a supplementary, the re exam fees is 5000INR
Fees and Financial Aid
There are various scholarships offered by the college based on multiple factors like children scoring good marks, in case a student is an orphan, etc. However, I don't know anything in-depth about these scholarships
Campus Life
The extra curricular activities of the college are very good. The labs are well versed with equipments which students can you to perform any research or project which they wish to do. The college has a very good sports ground where sports like Football, Basketball, Cricket, Volleyball can be played by students
Hostel Facilities
The in-campus hostel before my graduation was small in size and couldn't accomodate many students. However, the college has tie-ups with many private hostels which are near the campus. The private hostels are good and they provide with very good food and services. Most of the private hostels have rooms with attached washrooms, daily room cleaning, laundry, mess and transport facility included in the fees
Alumni/Alumna
The alumni and seniors of the college are very helpful when it comes to the fact that a student needs help in academics as well as placement and internship. The alumni guide the current students in how to get into the industry, the current trends, etc. The seniors guide the students on how to study and prepare for exams
Admission
I filled in the form for merit list and received a corresponding ranking. Then I attended the counseling where based on my rank I was shown available courses to choose from. I went in to the selection committee and gave them my desired course. They asked me for a reason why I wanted to choose the same. Based on my answer, they gave me few other course options which were available. I selected the course of my choice and my admission process was complete
Faculty
The facilities are good and are well versed in knowledge of the subjects they teach. They are friendly and take care of students like they are their own children. The facilities are strict as well. The college rules state that students can choose faculty of their choice to clear doubts as well and the faculties don't mind clearing doubts of students they don't teach
