Remarks

Monthly external expenses depend on your way of living. Positive remarks would be that their clinics are much better and focused with respect to other colleges. College is strict about girl's in and out timings which is slowly imposing on boys too.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum is designed to expose the student to medical knowledge and application from basics to advance subsequently guiding about final year subjects and clinics. In a year, we have two internals, one prelim (kind of pre-board), and then a university exam(finals). Exam pattern depends on the subject but usually, 25mcqs with 75 marks of written part is there following practicals.

Placement Experience

4

After 4.5 years of MBBS, it’s compulsory for a medical student to undergo 1 year of internship. In an internship, you are posted in every department for a particular time where you have to complete some work/assignment/task/prescriptions. The stipend is usually 8-10k.

College Events

3

Many events are organized. Sports like TT, lawn tennis, cricket, football, etc have an inter-college tournament. The athletic meet is there in which all track events are there. Dance, music, and drama competitions are there. Every 2 years, a mega event is organized to which all colleges of north Karnataka are invited. The college also conducts many functions like teacher’s day celebrations, freshers, etc

Fee Structure And Facilities

For the 2017 batch, it’s 11Lakh per year, hostel and mess excluded. Examination fees and other miscellaneous charges are also there. It’s a bit on the expensive side but when compared to our junior’s fee and other college fees (16-25L/year), it looks much cheaper.

Fees and Financial Aid

I don’t know much about scholarships of loans but SBI bank has partnered with our university and gives loans on showing a document produced by the university on requesting. I think a special student loan is offered meanwhile about scholarships, you can always apply for a state scholarship offered by the Karnataka government which you can find on their related website.

Campus Life

3.5

For extracurriculars, you are on your own. If you want to play, bring your equipment and play. Courts and grounds have been provided but there are timings. For Gym, swimming and lawn tennis, you have to pay a certain amount. Dance, music, and drama are not that active unless there is a competition. There are no societies for drama or music.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Yes. I have opted for a hostel. College provides 2 types of hostel. Chanakya and NRI boys hostel. Different types of rooms are available in each hostel like single or double occupancy with or without washrooms attached. Hostel fee(2017 batch) varies from 36k-90k with some security deposit

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni meet is not organized as of now. In the future, maybe they will. Senior students are indeed helpful. You get to know all the important stuff about exams, teachers and what to follow in each department, where to get your work done, local restaurants, nearby places to hang out, vacation spot,s etc

Admission

On the basis of NEET marks and rank, a separate department was handling the counseling process and shortlisting students for particular colleges according to their choices filled on the website. After being shortlisted, we had to report to the college with the necessary documents and fees within a period of time and all the formalities were done in the counseling hall in the college. Colleges also take admission via state and NRI quotas also.

Faculty

4

The faculty of the college is up to the mark. In each department, you will find 1-2 teachers who will help you and guide you to your satisfaction. Teachers teach via ppt while some still teach on board. If you score less in internals/exams, a slowly learned batch is formed for which a teacher is assigned to guide and help them.

Course Curriculum Overview:

curriculum is designed to be highly relevant and comprehensive for modern medical practice.Early Clinical Exposure is One of the strongest aspects of the curriculum is introducing students to patients in their very second year. The final year of the curriculum—the Compulsory Rotatory Residential Internship (CRRI) is effective it prepares students for the high-pressure environment of Indian healthcare, making them very capable of handling emergencies and outpatient departments (OPD ). Students feel that lectures are still too focused on passive PowerPoint presentations.Rigorous schedule, integrating "Life Skills" or "Stress Management" modules more formally into the foundation course would be helpful. The university exams (RGUHS) are generally fair but require a very high level of descriptive writing and practical precision.
