Petroleum University

College is overall good for petroleum and most of the cs branches but for some branches it is not able to provide proper guidance and placement opportunities. It's placements are very high as compared to other colleges.

I think that the course curriculum is well managed and according to the prescribed norms. Exam structure is pretty normal. i. e. Normal mid- semester exams in the middle of the semester and the end-semester exams at the end of the current semester.

Placement opportunities for most of the branches are much higher than expected. For some left out branches college is trying their best to get the desired companies. And regarding the internships yes college provides 1 internship for every 3 year btech student which is mandatory for appearing in any interview for the job.

There are a number of events celebrated everyday in our college. Some of them are: 1. Fresher's party 2.Dj night 3.Uurja Fest 4.Ignite(group of events) 5.Every Wednesday there is a fun event organized for students. And many more student chapter organized events.

Fee structure is feasible for the students of higher class whose parents have a good amount of monthly earning but it is expensive for middle class families. But the Petroleum Engineering is worth spending the amount.

Yes the college runs a scholarship programme for the students who have got more than 80% in the physics, chemistry and maths aggregate. I don't know about any of the loan facility offered by the college.

Extracurricular activities are more or less always working in the college like there is a sports committee that looks after all the things. Labs are the attraction of the college there are a numerous number of labs in our college and they provide all round knowledge to the students practically.

I have not opted for the campus hostel. But I lived in a private hostel outside the campus. My hostel is well organized and is managed by a very friendly owner. The infrastructure is very good and it gives the feeling of home. Facilities are commendable and uncountable.

UPES has a great alumni network and they conduct alumni meets as well in a year. Seniors are very friendly and helpful and they have a curiosity to know the new batch students and their interaction skills are fabulous.

Firstly I cleared the entrance exam which was held in my hometown and then I was called for the counseling in Delhi where all the students who passed the exam were called for and then according to their grades they were shortlisted rank wise and then the favourite stream were provided.

Faculty is well educated and upto the mark according to the reputation of the college most of them are very learned and had completed their masters from various iits and mit. And almost everyone is excellent in their field of teaching.
