Remarks

The university has amazing social life and exposure. The courses are structured in a way to promote research and entrepreneurship talents of students. The students here are more sensitised towards the things happening around them and are talented enough to have a well mannered debates. Although there are no employment guarantee provided by the university, but the alumni have been into all sorts of universities and into a sorts of professions.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Course curriculum is quite simple. For every Maths subject we have 5 assessments. One class test (10%), a mid-sem paper (25%), one tut-test/ lab test (15%), one viva (15%) and end-sem paper (35%). All exams are internal. For subjects other than Maths pattern differ depending upon the subject and the faculty. I personally feel the exam pattern reflect pretty much the understanding of the course for an individual and the amount of efforts the student put into it.

Placement Experience

2.5

This is one of the aspects the University fells short of. The Placement cell has just been established 2 years back and needs a lot of improvement. It has some contacts here and there but it's not dependable. Internships are offered but they are very few in number and I never had the chance to had opportunity to get a college offered internship.

College Events

4.5

Multiple events are celebrated in AUD. Annual fest is called Aud@city (Audacity) and is organised between Nov-Dec. There's a summer fest celebrated around March. Festivals such as research festival, history festival, annual Ambedkar lecture etc. are also a part of life at Ambedkar University. The festivals are moderately big but are very insightful and not very trendy.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees for one semester at Ambedkar University is around ?20,000. In addition to it, the college offers fee waiver for people with economical underprivileged families. A waiver of 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% is offered on tution fees depending upon the family income of the student.

Fees and Financial Aid

Apart from the grant provided by the university to P.hd. and research scholars, the university provides scholarship per semester on the basis of the grades scored by students. Students above a certain percentile grades get scholarship from the respective deans of their schools. As of now there is no facility of loan provided by the university but the government provides loan facility to students and AUD being a state sponsored university, any student can avail such schemes.

Campus Life

3.5

Games such as cricket, badminton, football, table tennis, volley ball and basket ball are available in the university ( equipment and playing space provided by the university ). There are events where inter-college and inter-university compitions are held. Sports day is celebrated every year where students who are interested in athletics ( sprint race, relay race, hand ball etc.) can also show their capabilities. The university is yet to make its name in this category though.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni network is not week but at the same time is not a strength of our university as well. Every now and then we see certain alumnus being a guest for lectures and workshops. The cultural societies obtain huge support from the alumnus.

Admission

I got admission after class 12th on the basis of merit. For admission in Maths (h), percentage of top 4 subjects inclusive of maths and one language counts. Seats are reserved for students with place of residence in Delhi. Some percentage of marks are deducted for Science and Commerce students as the courses are Social sciences and Humanities related.

Faculty

4.5

The university being small and not very old, the faculty are limited but qualified. Most of the permanent faculty have completed their P.hd. and have Dr. before their name. They are mostly very interested and involved in the teaching. They are available outside classrooms and some of them even go out of the line to assist students.

The course curriculum is a bit too theoretical and less practical. The exams in the college takes places every month which are seasonals and are for internal marking and then we have semester exams in every 6 months which accounts for the external marking.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

The course offers many things for students interms of their further academic pursuits or any placement they are looking for. Talking about the areas of improvement and teaching methods there are none. The exams of the respective subject are to happen. They take test 1 , test 2 and there is final exams.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
