University of Petroleum and Energy Studies

College is really beautiful. It is situated in Dehradun with an amazing view of the mountains and greenery and atmosphere. Our college is among the top 20 beautiful campuses in Asia. Academics is great as well. The only negative thing I feel is the expensive fee structure.

Courae Curriculum is really good and updated. There are research labs as well. Exam structure is fair and we are given adequate time to prepare. During the exam days, there are no classes or labs held so it's a relaxation.

There is a separate career Services Department in our college that takes care of all the placement process. Internship is provided by our college, some include stipend and some not. I myself got an internship from the college that included stipend. Also, right now the placement percentage is over 85 so it's quite a good setup.

There are technical and cultural fests organized annually. Uurja is the cultural fest in which some popular performer is invited every year. Last year we had Hardy Sandhu. Technical fest is held in February with all the big events. Also, there are various student chapters that organize events regularly.

Fee structure is a little expensive. But looking at all the facilities like labs and expensive equipments provided by the college, that fee structure has been made. It is expensive and a little hard to cope up with.

There are numerous scholarships and loan facilities available and one can always query and get to know about them easily. Many students have availed these facilities. The top scorer gets a certain amount of scholarship too on yearly basis.

There is a well maintained ground for the sports activities and and indoor badminton court as well. We have a great auditorium for all the cultural activities. Events are held regularly and it's now a good balance between academics and extra curricular.

There is a strong alumni network and the college is working on it regularly. There are almuni events being held un cities like Delhi, Bangalore, Pune to connect with the alumnis. All the alumni are helpful.

UPES conducts an extrance exam UPESEAT every year. I cleared this exam and was called for the counselling seminar. There, we were explained different courses abd programs offered by the University and according to our rank in the entrance were given options to choose.

Faculties in the college are highly qualified and helpful. We can reach them after classes also for any query. Also, there are adequate amount of teachers so there is not too much pressure on a single teacher and this way they can really focus well on teaching.
