Remarks

Every student has some good remarks some bad remarks about college and it's management. Since my college is absolutely beautiful so just one remark that it must be maintained that way only. But the college management is sometimes rude and arrogant which is obviously not tolerable by students, so college must look in the management people's behavior. That's all, I guess.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Talking about course. It is something that may vary from person to person. In my opinion, course curriculum is detailed and more into the direction of research work. Considering my philosophy's course and all it's indeed relevant and has helped me a lot to grow as person. However, when we listen Philosophy we get the idea that nah. That person is not going to do anything in future and it's just a way to postpone the job, but frankly speaking it is more than that. So, I can gladly say that Yes, Philosophy has aided me to grow as a person and as a professional, since there are vast areas in Philosophy that many professionals seek shelter to. So yeah I have become a better professional in this course, as I know how to handle situations, my emotions, my opinions are required where and when and all.

Placement Experience

3

No, I have not availed any internship at all. As far as we are concerned about the the placement and all, Yes, there are placement cells in the college but I'm more of an academic person so honestly, I have no clue about the placement pacakges, companies. But one thing I can say for sure is that campus takes special steps to prepare its students for the placement season. And students & campus people do put a lot of effort for this season.

College Events

4

There are several events that took place recently in the campus. Every year there are fests held in DU which constitute cultural festivals, management festivals etc. Yup, for sure these events are held at a larger scale and the participation, either of students or of teaching faculty or of non teaching faculty is quite impressive. Even the technical festivals, generally held in the colleges with techinal courses are good.

Fee Structure And Facilities

This is something that is great about being in DU. Since the fee structure in DU is great and obviously feasible. Previously, there was an offline fee payment method but with the advancement of technology online fee payment method has been prevailing all over the place. During admission there is no extra charge that has to paid in order to secure admission, only final fee payment works. There's transparency in fee breakdown, and no hidden or suspicious amount of money is charged from the students. Plus, the website of DU is so friendly that even if a person who is anyhow not able to access the internet could seek anyone's help without causing any trouble either to himself/herself or to the person who is helping.

Fees and Financial Aid

Nope, I haven't not opted for any scholarshipor education loan. But Yes, college provides ample of scholarship opportunities to those who are in need of it. Process for these things are also feasible. No student has to go thourough any kind of pressure or hard thinking for it.

Campus Life

4

What can be said about the gender ratio, since here in campus we can actually see equal gender ratio. And even if we talk about colleges there are girl's college as well as co-ed colleges in DU. Ethnicity is obviously taken care of and is accepted with full love and support. We can hardly trace any kind of discrimination in the campus either on the basis of sex, gender, race, caste, religion, ethnicity, etc. For DU is all accepting and embracing and full of love.

Alumni/Alumna

I just passed out last year only so I have no experience of alumni meet. But previous alumnis are obviously in touch with us and they have shared their experiences, some sweet, some bitter and all, but then again it's subjective. Alumni have for sure helped me with my experience about my college and campus and adjoining ares of my campus and that resulted in something worth one's while.

Admission

Let's start with my experience of getting admission in graduation. When I took admission in Philosophy 4years back it was on the basis of cut off marks, since it a prominent criteria of admission in University of Delhi. The process of admission is actually quite simple in DU even if a person outside of Delhi comes here to get enrolled in DU that person could get admission easily without going thourough extremely lengthy process and all. Now I'm pursuing Masters, from DU only. Here in masters too admission process is simple. One gets selected either on the basis of entrance result or on base of graduation marks.

Faculty

3.5

For faculty all I can comment is that faculty is really good. And it's not just in the sense of teaching only but also in the sense of faculty help outside the classroom. Lectures are like priority in our campus, there are hardly any days when lectures stand cancelled. Otherwise most of the time lectures happen, teachers are there for us. When we talk about average qualifications, here the average qualification of a professor is that professor has to be enrolled in MPhil/PhD. Additionally, most of the teachers are PhD degree holders.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
