I gave CATE which is common aptitude test for English. I scored 70 points in this exam and choose this college because the faculty of this college particularly for English literature is world class.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course was divided into 6 semesters which includes some optional and interdisciplinary courses. We learn about different eras and how they are important in terms of literature. How literature has evolved over the years, what socio-political conditions led to the formation of different genres and what is the current role of literature in contemporary world.
Internships Opportunities
Delhi university offers you a variety of internship opportunities but often the student has to make his or her own efforts. Most of the internships are related to NGOs and often unpaid, but yes you do get a certificate and an opportunity to explore and enhance your experience. There are paid internships as well but only a few and they are extremely demanding.
Placement Experience
The placement cell of the college is not very active but it is connected to the university cell so if one is looking for placements can contact the admin staff. Mostly people tend to continue their studies so they generally don't demand placements and this justifies the current status of the placement cell.
Fees and Financial Aid
Yes, the college do provide assistance to the needy. One need to provide the relevant documents. Besides this every year on annual day, the college gives scholarship to students who excel in studies or extra curricular activies as well.
Alumni/Alumna
College organised alumini meet every year and it connects the aluminis to the teachers and their old buddies. It provides the students a great opportunity to talk to their seniors and learn new things from their experience.
Exam Structure
Exams are as per the Delhi university rules (semester wise). We do have internal assessments(carries 25% weightage) in mid of the semester and it in a way prepares you for the mains(75% weightage).
