I think the management just works like government employees. They do not care about your comfort and make you roam around a lot.
Course Curriculum Overview
I feel the exam pattern lacks ease. People Normally say that college life is comparatively easy, but I'm having the toughest time of my life academically even though I'm a a good performer because of the pressure of so many exams, tests and Vivas. But when we are burdened a lot, the exams are easy.
Placement Experience
The placement cell of my college applies to a few streams only, mine being one of them. They do not provide internships.
College Events
The events of Fergusson college are celebrated throughout the city of Pune. The fest is a must-attend. It is full of fun and games and performances that are enjoyable. It is a larger than life experience. Also, the plays that Fergusson has are also not to be missed, considering how creative they are.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure ranges from 5000(for SAT/SC AND OBC) and goes up to 50000 for general category students per annum. They accept payment through online transfers only. There are no additional charges that I know of but there is fee-breakdown that is presented to us.
Fees and Financial Aid
I have not but as far as I know, Fergusson college does believe in scholarships and does give a good scholarship amount.
Campus Life
The gender ratio might be something like 4:1(boys:girls). The quality of crowd is diverse and so are the thinkings. Some get agitated at extremely small things while the rest are happy go lucky. The sexual orientations are respected and the political and economic status hardly matters in today's generation.
Hostel Facilities
I have not but as per what I have heard, the rooms are manageable, but give a traditional vibe. The foreign students aren't very comfortable with the rooms. Also, there is pre-booking that has to be done due to limited rooms.
Alumni/Alumna
The seniors are a delight to be around. During the fests, they helped us a lot, guiding us at each given step and are extremely very friendly and knowledgeable.
Admission
The admission process is completely online and simple. The base criterion is your board percentage. I opted for this course because I have an interest in Computer Science. After this, one has to check the lists and then, we have to go to the college for some formalities.
Faculty
The teachers are really good at what they do except for one or two here and there. My course has approximately 20 teachers for one single year out of which, a class normally experiences the supervision of 10-12 of them. They are well qualified (most have done their masters) and some, their PhDs. The average age should be around 45 if I'm not wrong.
