Remarks
The first factor was my score, and then I researched Nit Silchar. Its scenic beauty attracted me. The past placement trends were overwhelming especially the branch which I selected. It's been almost a year in the institute, n I m proud to study in this college. It has beautiful lakes and many species of birds. Seniors are really helpful, they encourage us to step out of our own cocoons and participate in college activities and explore ourselves in every field.
Course Curriculum Overview
The faculties are cooperative in all aspects. Faculty members here are very helpful and highly qualified. They teach us very perfectly. The course is also very good in terms of knowledge and placements too. One who studies at least two weeks before exams can crack the paper very easily. Also, the faculty notes are helpful too.
Placement Experience
The placement scenario is quite good, with several reputed companies like General Electric, Power Grid Corporation of India, Goldman Sachs, among others recruiting 94 percent of the students in the college. The placement takes place in three rounds, one testing one's aptitude, followed by an hour round, finally leading on to a technical round. Mock interview and job cracking sessions are organized regularly, both by the departments, and also the Training and Placement Cell, to prepare students for the interviews and examinations going forward. The Training and Placement Cell also provides internship opportunities at the end of third year for the students, based on their aptitude and abilities
College Events
Campus life is full of enthusiasm. Nobody will ever feel bore. We have many clubs and individual branch fest. The whole year is full of events. But there are two most important events, first is the technical fest, Tecnoesis, one of the largest technical fests of North East. And the Incandescence, the cultural fest We have guests coming to the campus from different parts of our country and enlightening us about our career and all aspects of life. Students all over the northeast participate with full excitement.
Fees and Financial Aid
National Institute of Technology (NIT) Silchar offers the following scholarships to eligible candidates: Engineers India Limited (EIL) offers scholarships to SC/ST candidates. Swami Dayanand Charitable Educational Foundation offers a scholarship to Meritorious Students. Samsung offers the Samsung Star Scholarship to those with outstanding academic performance.
Campus Life
NIT Silchar is very good in infra and courses offered. Nit silchar has the world's second largest digital library. Instead of wifi lan is used and its speed is also pretty good. Labs are well furnished also the equipments. Nit Silchar fraternity provides freedom for research and therefore labs are open 24×7.
Hostel Facilities
Hostels are also good. The rooms here are small but very clean and tidy. Mainly students are outside the hostel for most of the time just come to the room to sleep so they are good with the rooms. Mess food is also good.
