Remarks

Good placement opportunities, not too far from most of the places in Kolkata (its in kidderpore), the teachers are good and help. The electrical department is the best department over there. Focus on games and studies.

Our course is of MAKAUT. One of the best teachers we have is our english teachers as well as our director. We get industrial training only for electrical and electronics dept in the 3rd year. The cse and it dept has something of their own for training purpose

Infosys recruits most of our students. There are many other companies which come with salaries ranging between 3lakhs to 8lakhs per annum. Our director also helps us a lot with how to tackle interviews right from the 1st year

College Events

We have only one tech fest once a year. Other than that we have sports day and we have inter department badminton football cricket table tennis for girls as well as boys. Our tech fest has the name SREY. Though as a first year student i have not yet saw that i heard that its pretty good.

Campus Life

Library is not very big but adequate. Wifi enabled, sports like badminton, table tennis, carrom, football, cricket is allowed. Our labs are well equipped and teachers are very helpful. Our director is the best.

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.

See,I didn't get good percentile in jee advance and so I choose to give wbjee exam to get a seat in engineering colleges and I got a rank of almost 17k where I got cse department in 2nd phase of wbjee counciling.I choose St Thomas College of Engineering and Technology because the fees is very low compare to other colleges as I don't get jadavpur university or any other top in that rank and I am very happy from my decision because of you need a college that gives placement and fees is not too high .This college is best for that....Read More
