Remarks

I really adhere, respect and respect all my teachers they all are exceptionally good. One of the best things of my college is that lectures are delivered both in English and Hindi medium but sometimes it gets difficult to understand the proper hindi terms . The college needs to work a little more effort towards cleansing of the washrooms. Overall it's a nice experience.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

We were taught in semester mode varied subjects covering the course for example: 1 Political Theory 2 International Relations 3 Comparative Government and Politics 4 Western Political Thought 5 Indian Political Thought and so forth. Out of all these I really liked studying about Indian Political Thought and it really evolve me as a human being because you got to know the vital philosophies of the great thinkers like Kautilya' s Arthashastra , Gandhian ideology and I got to learn the power of ideas shaping both the individual and country's prospects . We have to give written exam comprising of Internal assessment divided into test of 10 marks , assignment of 10 marks and attendance of 5 marks followed by external exam of 75 marks .

Placement Experience

3.5

Its evident in other courses like of commerce stream and yes teachers proves to be helpful for the students in this regard. In my course , we got to be given many of the NGOS placements and yes this surely makes us a better person helping those in need .

College Events

4.5

There are various events happening in the college campus such as Bharatnatyam dance, ??? - ????? ???????, nukaad natak , valuable and insighful seminar talk by diginified professional from outside on vital topics , department fest in which there was poetry , drawing , debate competition ,etc were held. Elections for various posts such as secretary general ,president, etc also take place. Everyone was very excited to take part in all the above said events. Also many bollywood celebrities do come to promote their upcoming movies .

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure was quite feasible as its a government runned college. It was around 8,000 rupees in the first year which I paid offline and in the second year it was made to be done online . Only 500 rupees were taken in the name of department events each year as I remember.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes the college provides with scholarship opportunitie for those who got excellence in the subject. It's around 5000 to 10,000 rupees.

Campus Life

4

It's a girl college but yes male teachers were employed and the ratio is quite good enough. It was pretty comfortable in the campus area. Various events such as Sports Day, Annual day , department fest , College fest were organised alongwith environment driven events in which we are shown how the whole system of water supply works out in the college campus plus the importance of growing trees and to make all this effective a separate society is made in the name of ECOCLUB . UNMUKTI - Women Development Cell has also been formed to look after the special needs that a woman deserves for its security. Seminar talks on vital contemporary issues delivered by dignified personalities were also held which adds on to the knowledge base of a student .

Hostel Facilities

4

No I need not to look for a hostel as the college is nearby my home. So I does not possess appropriate knowledge of the hostel facilities and does not want to drop any wrong information regarding the same.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes they are helpful in terms of sharing notes and books and guiding us towards the college life. But I must say you will get a mix in this regard some are good enough while others are arrogant enough.

Admission

I opt for this subject because in my 12th class, I started taking interest in political science because of our incredible Gupta ma'am in NGFS saket school. I choose Gargi College over other institutions firstly because it's a girl college and secondly because it's near my home and thirdly and most importantly because it's a good college ( in terms of its infrastructure, academic performance ,etc) .I got admission over there in the second list in OBC category. The admission procedure was quite easier for me as I was accompanied by my didi . Firstly we interacted with 3 teacher panel one of them the HOD of the department and then they asked simple questions like why I am getting into this course and guiding me with future prospects and opportunities associated with the subject. Then I get through the prospectus and eventually paid the fees and in the auditorium the names of the registered students are called off and I got the confirmation of my admission with a receipt. This was around the month of April May .

Faculty

5

The facutly is of great expertise with enormous knowledge base and very good way of teaching. There may be 25- 30 assistant professors in the department all clearing the National Eligibility Test (NET) with most of them with their doctoral degree and some of them pursuing it.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
