Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum was satisfactory. A copy of the syllabus cum teaching schedule was given to the students before the start of the academic year which worked as a map for the whole year. The curriculum was mostly theoretical.
Placement Experience
There is no training and placement cell as such. The focus is more on education rather than job opportunities for the students. Though quite a few companies offer summer internships to the students. Most of the students have to find jobs and internships on their own.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee charges are minimal. The fee charges for my course were around 13,000 rupees per year which is indeed a very meagre amount. It is affordable for everyone. The fee includes the tuition fee only.
Fees and Financial Aid
Scholarships are given to the students of reserved category like SC/ST. Meritorious students who regularly attend the college and perform well in exams but have a weak financial status are given assistance from the student's welfare fund and student aid fund of the teacher's council. Half free studentship in the form of fee concession is awarded to those students who are facing acute financial hardship.
Campus Life
The infrastructure of our college is economical. Our college has all the basic facilities which are required for learning. There is a library where reading material is available in both hard copy and soft copy. There is a canteen which serves nutritious meals at reasonable prices. Coming to the extracurricular activities, our college conducts seminars and workshops with financial assistance from UGC. Both students and teachers attend these seminars on the emerging issues.
Admission
The admission to this college is based on the merit secured in the previous qualifying exam. For the undergraduate courses, it is the merit of class 12th which serves as the basis of selection. For the postgraduate courses, it is the merit achieved in the graduation which is the major deciding factor. A candidate has to secure at least 45 per cent marks in the graduation to be able to take admission.
Faculty
The college faculty is highly educated and dedicated to their job of teaching. Some of them possess a P.hd degree as well. There are both permanent and ad hoc teachers. The quality of teaching is quite good. The teachers are polite and soft-spoken.
