I have no complaints against my college as I really enjoy my life here.
Entrance Preview
I got the chance to do my research in NIT Durgapur, by cracking the entrance exam, which comprised of a written test and an interview.
Course Curriculum Overview
In the current year I have to appear for the course work examination which included four papers. The papers are related to my area of research. Along with that, there is an assignment on a particular topic.
Internships Opportunities
As I am a student of English Literature, so there's no provision of campusing for us. Although UGC and the institute provide fellowships for the research scholars, which is about rs.25000 per month along with a contingency of Rs.10000 per annum.
Placement Experience
There's no placement cell, as of now, in my department. Students appear for different competitive exams conducted by the state government and the Central Government for the recruitment of assistant professors.
College Events
The college organises an annual youth festival each year. The festival continues for three to four days. The college organises a number of events, and the almost each and every student participate in these exams.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Its not so much expensive to study here. Per semester fees are nominal, so is the hostel fee. We pay almost Rs. 10000 as semester fee, per semester, and Rs. 2000 as the hostel fee.
Fees and Financial Aid
The institute offers fellowships to research scholars, a fellowship of Rs. 25000 per month along with a contingency of Rs. 10000 per annum and also 5% HRA.
Campus Life
I really enjoy the campus life here as the students are very friendly. My department often organises seminars, workshops etc, which are very much helpful for us. The institute has also provided us with computers and internet facility.
Hostel Facilities
There's a number of hostels in the campus, so there is an availability of rooms. The Research Scholars are provided single rooms, we don't have to share rooms with others. We also get quality food in our hostel.
Alumni/Alumna
Our seniors are friendly with us, I have often interacted with them, and I found them really very helpful and co-operative. The faculty-members, too, are very co-operative and helpful.
Exam Structure
We have to appear for exams not so frequently, there's a pretty much time given to us to prepare for the exams.
Faculty
There are, at present, four professors in the department. All of them are highly qualified. Apart from their educational qualification, they are very cordial and friendly with all of the students. They always guide us and co-operate with us.
