Remarks

This college is situated near my residence and it is affiliated with University of Calcutta. Our college is famous in whole Kolkata and one donot get chance easily in this college. The faculty provided for our subject is also good as one of my brother suggested me to apply in this college.

Course Curriculum Overview

Our current syllabus is updated with CBCS semester system with 6 semesters in entire courses. The syllabus followed is tough and quite challenging to pass without any suppli. The faculty provided by the college is good. Our courses provides us with practical programmes and e learning.

Class Size: 30Course Fees: INR 42000 per year

Placement Experience

We donot have college placements for a graduate students. Many of our batchmates donot choose for job as they wanted to pursue for more higher level studies. I donot have much idea of campus placments provided by our college.

College Events

Our college organizes certain events at regular intervals and gives opportunity to students to participate and win. We were given freshers party by our seniors during our first year. Annual college festival is worth to watch as it is very interesting to watch.

Campus Life

Our college infrastrucute is really big as compared to other goverment colleges. We have sports room and a common room for us to spent free time there for recreation. Our computer labs is situated at 2nd floor with certain programme learning course for students. College wifi is free for all students but it provides limited data.

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

1. Students generally get eligible for campus placements from the 3rd semester of the M.Sc. course. 2. Deperments like Biotechnology,Botany,Zoology have placement support. 3. Companies coming to campus like TCS,Wipro,Deloitte,Biocon,Pfizer. 4. Deperments with strong placement cells secure 10-15 offers per company, depending on batch size. 5. 8-10LPA Highest package offered by Leading companies and 4-5LPA Average package offered by companies. 6. 60-80% of students getting placements. i am interested in Ph.D. programs for research positions.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
