Remarks

IIT Guwahati is top 7th college in India and also I got a decent branch (Chemical Engineering). IIT provides recognized B. Tech degree which is the highest degree of engineering as of now in our country.

Course Curriculum Overview

Course syllabus is good. Gets reguralrly updated and is revised. Faculties to be honest in IITs are less interactive and quite monotonous. Industrial exposure is up to the mark. Varous Companies come in 3rd year for proving internship.

Placement Experience

In core chemical branch companies like GAIL and ONGC reliance petroleum and others hire students. Also students sit for non core placements and companies like Goldman sachs and other renowned tech companies place offer to the students. But there are less tech companies open for non CSE students.

College Events

Techniche is the technical fest of IITG. It has huge participation from all over india. It is a well reputed technical fest of india. Alcheringa is the Cultural fest and is also the north India's largest fest. Udgam is e-cell fest.

Campus Life

Everything is great. Library is very huge and has all required stuff. We have student activity center (SAC) which has all sports facilities. Equipments in lab are also up to date. We have wifi in whole campus and LAN connection in every hostel room.

Hostel Facilities

Boys hostel has single accomodation and girls have double accomodation in my and my previous batch. Before that girls also got single accomodation. Hostels are in good condition. Hostels have huge accommodative capacity.

I love to explore the novels of great writers so i choose the English literature to complete my bachelor degree . The course enhanced the thinking of mine and upgrade the knowledge of literature . I don't think they need a improvement on teaching . But exam timing isn't fine . 9 AM isn't untolarable we can't reached the college too early

After the 6th sem placement season starts. The intern season takes place at the end of the 4th sem. The placement of the college is extremely good. The average package of the college is around 21 lakhs. That of CSE is 41 lakhs. Mncs is 35 lakhs etc. Projected package of my branch DSAI is 40 lakhs.

I have applied for DTU & IIITD where I got Software Engineering Branch through the JEE Mains Scores. But since I was sure to join old IIT. I was not sure much about branches so, I just filled all the core and circuital branches of all Old IITs. I wasn't able get other top IITs as my rank in JEE Advanced was not that level.
