Remarks

Last but not the least the management of the college is also very good, the provided us all required infrastructure i.e., well equipped classrooms, library, labs, sanitation, drinking water etc. Also they always listen to the problems of the students and try to solve the same as soon as possible.

Entrance Preview

Admission in Economics(H) is based on the marks scored in class XII, there was no such entrance examination. Admission to this course is purely based on merit, however due to high demand for this course in the university, the cut off for economics (h) is quite high in almost all the colleges.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course curriculum is planned in a very organised manner which does not put stress on the students, the university had divided the syllabus quite well over three years. As far as lecturers are concerned the are very well qualified and cooperative. The college is completely Wi-Fi enabled along with that college provide free laptops to each students of 1st year.

Internships Opportunities

The college does not provide any internship facility, but various seminars, workshops conducted throughout the year, the college try to give a great exposure to each student for the overall development. During my batch several famous economist came to our college and interacting with them was really a life changing experience.

Placement Experience

4

As far as placements are concerned, being a out campus college there is myth that the college attract much of companies but i personally know that college has a separate placement cell which is open for all the students of the college. Any student from any discipline can enroll there and annually several well reputed market leading companies visit the campus to absorb students, during my batch HDFC, ICICI, Reliance, Max Life Insurance were some of the companies turned up for selection.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Yes, it's a government college so the fee structure is not very high. Fees are to be paid in three yearly installment of about Rs.6500-10000 p.a. depending upon the course, in addition to this an annual examination fee is to be paid every year which is Rs.60 per paper during my time. So overall this makes it a affordable choice for the students belonging to economically weaker sections.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes, the do provide scholarships to meritorious students of different disciplines every year which a token of appreciation. The amount scholarship varies from Rs1500-3500 per month. As far as loans are concerned i don't remember whether such facilities were available as the fee structure wasn't that high.

Campus Life

4.5

The campus life is pretty cool, full green campus with a very huge playground with different courts for cricket, basketball, football etc. Also being a co-ed college both boys and girls study together in a friendly manner. The labs of the college are very well equipped and large in size, the library in also very large in size with thousands of books available which really helped me a lot during my college period as well as during masters preparation. Also several seminars, discussions were regularly conducted. College has a committee for sexual harassment with girls and had very strict rules against that, but no such case was reported during our batch.

Hostel Facilities

4

The college does have any hostel on its own but the college located in the prime location of west delhi where accommodation is very available. The nearby areas are surrounded by several private P.Gs, girls hostels etc which affordable as well safe safe for girls. Students coming from other states can easily find a place over there at affordable prices.

Alumni/Alumna

The senior that we had during our batch were extremely friendly, really glad to have such seniors who helped us in different areas. The gave us freshers party outside the campus so that we become aware of the college and easily interact with the seniors. No ragging policy was adopted by our seniors.

Exam Structure

As the college is affiliated to university of delhi, the exams are schedule by the university, but the university evenly distribute the exams date so that it does put my stress on the students apart from that if any problems arises, the university always readily available to solve the problem. Once i remember during third year two of our exams falls on consecutive days, hence all the students of economics from different college approach the university and as a result the university postponed the exam on some later date.As far as the internal exam are concerned those are conducted in the college itself whose marks are incorporated in the final exam marks, are also very well planned to minimise the stress from the students.

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
