The college management is good. It's just that we do not have that freedom that other colleges have. We have in-timings and we are bound to follow the rules set by the institution.

There is an admission test that I took named UPESEAT (UPES Entrance Admission Test). I took admission from my board merit in which my rank was 981. I opted for this college because this college offers chemical engineering with specialization in refining and petrochemicals, the one and only of its kind. Chemical engineering here is very reputed after petroleum engineering.

Yes, the college provides n number of internships, paid as well as unpaid. The stipend is not generally fixed and depends upon the company as well the student.

Placement and job opportunities are quite good here, although it depends upon the stream. All non-profit CIT branches often end up with 100% placement record. The package depends upon the branch you're in. Computer science branches get an average of 4 lac package whereas petroleum, chemical, geoscience, etc end up getting an average of 5-6 lac per annum. The highest packages are high and depends upon the students personal interview and his/her abilities. There are many mass recruiters in UPES. To name a few,IBM, infosys, etc.

The two big fests organised by our college are UURJA and IGNITE. UURJA is the cultural fest wherein we receive participation from various neighboring colleges namely, DIT, BFIT, IIT roorkee, etc. It's a two day fest and we also have a Dj night and the battle of bands night. The technical fest is ignite where competitions are related to research and technical paper and poster presentation etc.

The fee structure is a little expensive but when you are getting so much, it's quite right. After the increment in the fees of IITs, I don't think it's non-feasible for anyone to afford studying in UPES. the fee structure is quite feasible and can be afforded by many. Above all, there are many loan providing banks in association with UPES.

Yes, the topper from every branch every year gets a full year fee waiver of tuition fees. The freshers have an opportunity of getting scholarship at first.

Campus life is beyond perfect. There is every facility you need. You name it and we have it. The gender ratio is also branch specific. We have good gender ratio in computer science branches but petroleum branches doesn't have much girls. But this has never been a problem here at UPES.

The hostel facilities are excellent. The food is even better. We get quite good food everyday it's a four time meal, breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner. We get a sweet dish everyday at dinner time which includes pastries, ice creams, rum ball, kheer, custard, jalebi and much much more. There are many off campus hostels and PGs available nearby. A lot of students live nearby the college as well.

There is a very good emphasis on alumni interaction and we have a lot of senior junior interaction. The juniors live in a healthy and rag-free environment.

It's quite hectic at first but then when you realise that it's all going to make you a responsible person, you're then chilled out. We have a proper R&D section (research and development) wherein all the labs take place. Their is a continuous evaluation in labs and viva takes place in every class. All the students therefore are very attentive and keen in performing the experiments. The schedule of the exams is like we have 5-6 written exams 5 or 6 days in a row which makes it a little tiresome but then better than other colleges where students have to take 2 exams in a single day.

The faculty, the teaching staff is the main plus point here at UPES. We have a very reputed and renowned chemical department helping out every student in every field. Moreover, we have such kind of curriculum that students are encouraged from the first year itself to take part in different competitions and present review papers or research papers.
