Remarks

Lady Shri Ram College is. a prestigious college for the meritorious girls. The cutoff percentage this year, for Psychology Hons. was exact 100%. It is difficult to get admission to this college for courses like Psychology and Economics. One really needs to score well in the 12th boards. The admission form is available on the official website of the University of Delhi. The form is common for all the colleges of DU except for two colleges. It is usually out in the month of April. The faculty of Psychology is really good. You will not find any difference between your beloved school teachers and the professors of Psychology at LSR. They put their all efforts to make you understand the concepts and will help you to score well in your semester exams also. I used other reviews at collegedunia to get to know about this college they were really helpful to me.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I chose this course because I am interested in Psychology. I recommend one should only pursue it if he or she is interested in it, otherwise, you will really find it a boring subject and which is difficult to memorise. The faculty is very cooperative and compassionate. You will never be rebuked for wrong responses, I am pretty sure of it. They are really encouraging. Teacher students ratio is 70:1. This is a bit distressing. Don't worry!!!! There are practical groups and doubt clarification sessions also in which the teacher-student ratio is 15:1. The faculty's qualifications don't really matter to me. If they are teaching well I am satisfied with it. The faculty is well qualified. Some of them are working as Psychologists as well, working on their projects in collaboration with students. It's a CBCS pattern. So, semester exams are conducted. One really need not worry about the exams. The professors will make you practice so many question papers.

Internships Opportunities

4

There are 320 companies that offer internships to the students of LSR. It offers 13 dream internships. Stipend internships are ranging from 1,50,000 for two months to 4,000 per month. There are some unpaid internships as well, where you are expected to do social service, like teaching rural kids in collaboration with NGOs like 'Myra Ek Pahel', where you are given a role of an educator. There companies like 'Onourem' which offers the roles of HR, social media handler, sales executive, content developer, etc. Certificate of Appreciation and LOR is offered based on the performance.

Placement Experience

3.5

Every day you will receive approximately 5 emails for internship opportunities both a stipend and unpaid. There is a separate cell called Placement cell for the students who wish to do internships and some of them also get placement offers. LSR managed to get 100+ placement offers each year. The highest package in the entire Delhi University has been backed by the student of LSR i.e., 37.8 LPA. The average package is 7.5 LPA I want to do an MA after completing a BA Hons. Over 100 companies such as McKinsey, BCG, Bloomberg, KPMG etc offer placements to the students. Students are eligible for placement in the final year of their degree. I want to be a professional Psychologist. I will try my best to get admission to LSR for the MA course also.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees are 16,970 Rs. per year which is approximately 17,000. Spending 17,000 for a college like LSR is worth paying. There are ample opportunities to enhance your capabilities. The college also provides binders for each subject, as the books are very costly. You will get the binders for approximately 300 Rs. each. So, you need not worry about the textbooks and the reading material. LSR also provides scholarships to meritorious students. Now it has also initiated need based scholarship. One can avail of the benefits if he or she meets the criteria of annual income less than 3 lakh per month.

Campus Life

3.5

Honestly saying, I haven't visited the campus yet. Seniors have told that LSR always wins the title of 'Greenest Campus' of Delhi University. The annual fest 'Tarang' of LSR or the cultural fest is organised in the month of February. Apart from that other fests are also organised by various departments like NSS organises 'Nexus' every year between February. For sports students, NSO is a good platform to display their enthusiasm for the field. There 21 societies and clubs managed bt the students ranging from 'Dramsoc' for English drama to 'Prakriti' for conservation of Nature. Few other societies are Enactus, Abhivyakti, Reach, Quiz society etc. Since I haven't been to the college physically till now due to Corona I am not in the state to say anything about the classrooms and Library. The classrooms are not equipped with an air conditioner so it is very difficult to manage in summer. (this is what I heard from my seniors)

Other Applied Colleges

Krea University | BSC in Psychology

Because I couldn't pay the fee for this college. It's out of my capacity.

The course curriculum is a bit too theoretical and less practical. The exams in the college takes places every month which are seasonals and are for internal marking and then we have semester exams in every 6 months which accounts for the external marking.

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
