Remarks

LSR is a dream come true college for me. I always wanted to be there. The infrastructure of this college is worth watching. The seniors and teachers are really cooperative here. There is nothing I can say bad regarding this college. The only problem students are facing is because of the pandemic but besides this everything is excellent. The admission process will be merit-based and cut-offs are taken on different dates for admission. I preferred this college over others because this college suited me the best for pursuing courses in humanities. Its ranking is always among the top 5 colleges in India. Some sites which I went through while selecting this college were NIRF and collegedunia.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I chose the History honors course. The reason behind choosing it was that I want to do civil services in the future so this course is supposed to be very helpful in my Aim. The availability of faculty is sufficient for the no. of students and all the teachers are well qualified. They teach in a very systemic manner listening to the doubts of students and providing all the readings related to the syllabus. They do their best for helping the students in every possible way. The exams were held a little bit earlier than every year but students managed to complete the exams, not with much difficulty.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

Godutch provides internship and work-based stipend where we just need to make the people download and register the app. Besides that, there are various internships na works that provide various works such as graphic and logo designing, teaching, content writing, blog writing, etc.

Placement Experience

4

Students are eligible for campus placements from their first semester only. Many companies provide offers and opportunities for internships for the students such as IGNOU, My Captain, etc. The companies provide a stipend to the students according to their or it may be fixed. Wages can range from 500-20000 or above it as well according to performance. Students of any percentage can get the placement unless specified. After getting the degree I will be attempting the UPSC exam and other civil services exams.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure of LSR is very much affordable compared to other colleges. Everyone can avail themselves the course of their choices here without any much difficulty in finance. Scholarships are also provided here for EWS besides that laptops are also given to them for study purposes. Regarding the jobs here various internship opportunities are provided to students with and stipends. These internships ans campus jobs are very helpful for the growth and development of the skills of children.

Campus Life

4

The annual fest of LSR is Tarang and it is held at the end of every year. Regarding the books and journals in the library of LSR I have no clue as I have never been to my college due to restrictions owing to the corona pandemic but as my seniors and teachers have told books are available in a vast amount in the college library. Even in online mode all the important books, reading material, and other related stuff have been provided to us by our teachers. Students can participate in various extracurricular activities here and in sports as well such as NSS, NSO, and NCC. Besides these there are many societies here diverse in nature ranging from dance and singing to MUN and Prakriti etc. and everyone can join these societies. There are Instagram handles and discord accounts of all the departments of LSR run by the students themselves.

Interview Experience

4

For LSR there was no interview or written test. It was totally merit-based and a score of the best four subjects was taken into consideration. But I had also applied for Saint Stephens which was also based on interview besides score. But I couldn't get into the cutoff so I didn't give the interview but for it, the main things that are needed to be prepared are normal questions such as description about yourself, our interests and reasons behind choosing the college and the course.

Other Applied Colleges

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
