Remarks

I chose Zakir Hussain College because it is a good college for Delhi university. And getting into any college of Delhi University is a dream for everyone. So, I consider myself fortunate enough to get into a good college. The admission was merit-based. The good aspects of the college are as follows: 1. It's one of the colleges of Delhi University. 2. The teachers here are really supportive and helpful and they teach us very well. 3. The different societies of the college help us to enhance our skills. 4. The fests of the university are very great. The not so good aspects of the college are as follows: 1. The infrastructure of the college is not so good. 2. It is a college on the South campus.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I choose the BA program so that I don't have pressure on me for studying as I have a deep interest in cricket and I want to pursue my career in the field of cricket. If the workload of the college would be less I would be able to focus on my gameplay and I would get more time on the field. This is the reason why I chose an easy course. Talking about the qualification of the faculty, most teachers are a holder of Ph.D. degree. As far as the exams are concerned, exams are conducted by the university itself. No specific college has a specific role to play. The online exams weren't very hectic and we didn't have any problem giving the exams because we were so well trained by the faculty members beforehand.

Placement Experience

4

The placement percentage of our college varies in the range of 70-80%. The highest salary offered this year was INR 4 LPA. Also, the highest package of 9LPA was received by a BCom student in the college. Companies like ICICI Bank, PNB Metlife, Genpact, TR Chadha & Co LLP, HDFC Bank, Grofers, Justdial, Jack and Jones, MAX Life Insurance, and Bajaj Finserv are some of the major recruiters that visited the campus for placements this year.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees of my college specifically for the course of the BA Programme is extremely low and easily affordable and manageable. The fee for 1 year is 6304. The fee for the whole course is around 18500. There is some reduction in fees for the weaker sections of the society. The reserved category of students enjoys some of the benefits.

Campus Life

5

Zeenat is the annual cultural fest organized by my college. The annual Zakir Husain Memorial Lecture honors an eminent educationist, nationalist, and a very distinguished former President of India, Dr. Zakir Husain. It's a three-day event where many competitions take place. The different societies of the college help us to bring out the best in us and help us to build our personality. They give us many opportunities to work and help us to know about our interest areas.

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
