Remarks

IIT Guwahati is ranked the seventh-best IIT. It offers many courses in BTech as well as BDes. Ph.D. and Mtech programs are also available. I haven't been to the campus yet because of the online semesters, but the pictures on the net are so beautiful. IIT Guwahati is considered one of the most beautiful campuses in India! There are lakes within the campus and the campus is on the banks of River Brahmaputra.

Course Curriculum Overview

I chose Electronics and Communications engineering because I really like the topics that come under it. It is among the most opted streams. There are 21 girls and 84 boys in ECE for our batch. The faculty is highly qualified. The teaching method is through PowerPoint presentations. We didn't have term exams. We had tests every two weeks, the total is taken and relative grading is given. Because there are so many tests and assignments, there is pressure. So days there are two or even three tests in a day! It is very important to be regular with all the subjects to score good marks.

Course Fees: INR 30800 per year

Internships Opportunities

Every student is eligible for an internship. Even the freshman. There are many summer and winter internships also. Students taking the summer internship will have to be present on the campus during the vacations. The details regarding registration and the roles offered by companies can be checked on the college's official website.

Placement Experience

The number of companies visiting is close to 250. The companies include Amazon, Google, IBM, Oracle, Goldman Sachs, Microsoft, etc. The highest package received is 1.5 cr per annum by Microsoft. Some students take up master's courses after graduation.

The fee structure is different for different students(basing on quota, PWD). The fee structure can be viewed on the college's official website. The details regarding scholarships, financial assistance, and placements can also be checked on the college website.

Campus Life

I haven't been to the campus because of the online classes yet, but the campus is extremely beautiful (my seniors told and showed pictures). There are 2 annual events: Alcheringa and Techniche. And there are many more tech fest, sporting events that take place regularly. The campus has a huge library. All the reference books are available there. Extracurricular activities include poetry, dancing, drawing, and many more clubs. You can go through the college's official website for more details.

Placement Experience:

Placements at IIT Guwahati are excellent especially in the tech field ,with high placement rates and strong average packages generally Rs 30 lakh per annum. Top companies regularly visit the campus. After completing the course if i do not get placed on campus which is hardly possible i'll look for other off campus placements.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Most of the professors are good here.The college covers the core subjects required for strong foundation in engineering. However the theoretical coverage is good the scope for practical exposure is still required.

Placement Experience:

The placement is quite good in my college. In 7 th semester the placements start and the package goes from 16lpa to 2 cr . About 75 percent student who applied got placed . I want to work in a software firm.

The placement of Assam engineering College is average as compared to the other colleges like iit and not. Aec gives placement around 20-24 lakhs and many company parts in the placement cell and many of the students get their dream job

Placement Experience:

Students normally appear for placements in fourth year with two placement seasons namely from december to january and february to march. Companies include quant companies and tech giants like JPMC, Reliance Industries, WellsFargo,Piramal, Standard Chartered,Texas Instrumentation, walmart, Microsoft, Amazon, Deloitte,Oracle, HCL, Barclays, Tata steel, uber, legato, Mastercard, Nutanix, BPCL, BEL,PWC, Socgen, etc. Almost 80% students get placed every year with the average package ?1,60,000. The highest package was 1.68 crore per annum from the branch of Computer Science.

ASSAM UNIVERSITY SILCHAR , THE GOOD THE BAD AND THE UGLY

Placement Experience:

only fourth year students are eligible for campus placements . the detalis of the visiting compaies are not thte sure but at least 10 stuents are placed each year from every single batch. the higest so far was 20 lpa and it was in amazon , the student who cracked that placement applied it off campus . on campus placement was not more than 10 lpa so far . the percentage of students getting placemnets are less than 50% not because of quality of placement but majority stuents opt for higher studies or goverment jobs rather than direct placement . my paln is to also pursue higher education

5 or 6 semester onwards students are eligible for internships in off campus . They can opt for PPO. There are severe companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Adobe, Flipkart, and some top MNCs . overall campus is perfect to spend 4 years

Charmingly Challenging Champion

Placement Experience:

After the 6th sem placement season starts. The intern season takes place at the end of the 4th sem. The placement of the college is extremely good. The average package of the college is around 21 lakhs. That of CSE is 41 lakhs. Mncs is 35 lakhs etc. Projected package of my branch DSAI is 40 lakhs.

I chose IIT Guwahati because of a strong IIT brand , excellent placements and comparetively lower fees. Compare to other IIT's it provied good campus expreience and less academic pressure. Compare to other NIT's , private colleges ,IIT Guwahati stands out in every fields. If one coudn't make it too higher IIT's it's because of not elegible after the JEE advanced rank as competition is very intense. Detailed and Unbiased Review

I have applied for DTU & IIITD where I got Software Engineering Branch through the JEE Mains Scores. But since I was sure to join old IIT. I was not sure much about branches so, I just filled all the core and circuital branches of all Old IITs. I wasn't able get other top IITs as my rank in JEE Advanced was not that level.
