Remarks
I had applied for Amity University, Christ University in addition to the University of Delhi. I got the college of my choice and hence, decided to go to DU. Merit is the admission criteria for DU. The cut-off for my course (applied psychology) was 97% for the general category. Once the cut-offs were declared, we were given three days to seek admissions for which we had to visit the campus in order to get our respective documents verified. There was no personal interview or group discussion held for the course. Post admissions, an orientation was held in which we were informed about the working of the department.
Course Curriculum Overview
I'm a Psychology enthusiast since the time I was introduced to this beautiful subject and therefore chose to pursue my graduation in this discipline. The faculty of my department is extremely good, they are very good professors who provide us with both knowledge and wisdom which cannot be learned through reading textbooks. All the faculty members are highly qualified and trained. Since the online exams were conducted for us for the previous semester and results have not been declared yet, it is a bit difficult to comment on the difficulty of passing. Moreover, the last time we gave offline exams (1st semester) they were more about testing our memory, rather than the application of knowledge.
Internships Opportunities
I did not enroll in any college internship, rather, I found my own opportunities. The national social service society of our college along with enactus, provides the students with a number of internship opportunities. I wasn't a part of that.
Placement Experience
I'm currently going to start with my third year and as far as I'm aware, placements start to post the final year. I am not much aware of this field. I'm planning to pursue my master's post-graduation from a college that I desire.
Fees and Financial Aid
Studying in a college which is affiliated with the University of Delhi doesn't cost much and is extremely economical. Financial assistance is available to students belonging to economically weaker sections and the college is very supportive in that sense.
Campus Life
As far as college life is concerned, it is extremely good and it provides me with a comfortable and safe environment. Prior to covid, 2 annual fests were conducted in our college each in February and October. The library is also very accommodating and has all the reference books and textbooks which are required. However, the infrastructure is a little poor. The clubs and societies of Gargi, excel in all the popular competitions and fests.
