Remarks
I applied in many colleges in DU and firstly got admission in Dyal singh College and was waiting for my DUJAT result to come, i was just being on a safer side. After i cleared my JAT, i applied for admission in the colleges in which i was eligible according to my OBC quota. I didnt got much marks as compared to the other so i couldn't took SSCBS . So i took Shivaji College as my preference. Admission criteria: Actually the admission process was very easy n well told by the seniors at Shivaji College. You just have to fill a form, give your documents such as Adhar card, quota certificate, DOB certificate , income certificate etc. I dont know about the minimum age but yes the marks actually change according to the cut off every year.
Course Curriculum Overview
B.A. (Hons) Business Economics is the finest course in Shivaji College. You get alot and lot of opportunities as compared to and other courses. Faculty to student ratio is almost 1:6 which is very good because in any other course or program it is almost 1: 20. All teachers are Phd in their subjects. I would say that the faculty at Shivaji is very good. The teaching experience is fantastic. It's not like you cannot pass the exam, I was from the PCM stream but still, i managed to get a 7.09 GPA in the first year so it's not that difficult
Internships Opportunities
Internships opportunities are very good because you start getting internships from the first year itself. You just have to join the WhatsApp group of placement cell of Shivaji college and you are good to go. You get almost 1000 internship opportunities every year.
Placement Experience
After semester 4 you are eligible for the placements. There were many companies like Reddit, Zomato, etc. So the maximum offer in 2019 was 13 lacs per annum which was offered to 2 students. Also mostly students got 5 to 6 lacs per annum. 98% of students got placed in 2019.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees of BA(Hons) Business Economics is a bit higher than any other course in DU which is almost 32000/year. There are many scholarships test you can attend like the Jawaharlal Nehru scholarship. Actually, im in my last year of college so I will apply for the job later.
Campus Life
Vibrations are the name of the annual fest which takes place at Shivaji College. It is conducted in Mid January. The library in Shivaji College is very big and the availability of the books is very nice. You won't say that you couldn't get any book from them. In almost every classroom there are good quality projectors. Extracurricular activities are always at their peak in Shivaji College because of its huge sports complex. There are many clubs and groups currently which on students run like the Entrepreneur cell, Debating, Drama, etc.
