A place where rationality meets optimality!!

I am in Hansraj College, University of Delhi.I am a first-year student here. I have taken admission in 2020. My whole admission process went online and it was carried out very smoothly and efficiently. I availed the quota of CW that is children/ widows of armed forces. My criterion was purely based on 12 merits, and the best of 4 subjects were calculated to get the admission. The full admission process was online, starting with filling forms and the fee submission. Our documents were also got verified online. There was no counseling day because my admission for the course I opted was based on the merit of class12th.

I chose BA Hons economics because I had a great interest in this subject, I wanted to expand my knowledge and research in the field of economics so I chose this course. We have quite a good faculty-student ratio. and timely doubt classes are conducted so there are no problems aI faced due to this reason. The faculty of Hansraj is more than satisfying. The professors are well educated and have done their post-graduation from very reputed colleges. Being it going online they are able to teach us well and we are satisfied with their teaching. But sometimes they feel to explain some topics properly because everything is online. Our internals, assignments are conducted timely like every month we get something to do which helps us in learning many new things.

Our college organizes internship fairs not only for our college students but also for all DU colleges. In this many top companies recruit interns and collegedunia is also one of them. The companies like whitehatjr, Get success today, Internshala, Indian Express, and many more. They all recruit interns for almost all possible profiles like BDI, HR, content writing, Finance, Sales etc etc.

The placements of our college are worth satisfying and they provide ample opportunities to youngsters like us. The average package we get is 5-6 lakhs p.a. and it can maximum go up to 18-20 lakhs p.a. Students are eligible in their final years of college for placements maybe 6th semester. Many companies come to recruit in our college like WIPRO, AXIS BANK, ITC, EY, ZOMATO etc.

Because it is a govt college so the fees structure is not very high. It is affordable to many lower-middle-class people. Yet for some poor children they give good scholarship opportunities, many of my friends have received. I did not receive any of them.

From the day I have joined everything is going online, so I have not witnessed any offline fests but some of the societies conducted them virtually. Though it could not match the level of offline campus fests they were pretty interactive and enjoyable. We get our readings easily from college shops. Sports and extracurricular activities are fantabulous in our college. We have a large number of societies like NISHTHA- civil services society, ECOSOC- economics society , TERPSICHOREAN- choreography society, and a lot more.
