Remarks
The admission process was smooth and steady. The admission cut off for my course was 89.5%. There was a college orientation which was to be attended with your parents/guardian in which we were briefed about the college events, curriculum, classes, teachers, etc. There was also a Cultural Orientation in which we were introduced to cultural societies like Music, Fashion, Dance, Literary etc.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum was elaborate and appropriate. Teachers provided us with notes in every class and explained every concept twice in class for low attendance students and took doubt classes every week so that the concepts are clear.
Internships Opportunities
There are various roles offered like Content Writer, Web Developer, Human Resources, Sales, Management etc and the stipends range from Rs.1,000-12,000. The internships can be taken up by students of 1st semester and even the alumni can apply for placement and internships.
Placement Experience
From the first semester, students are eligible for internships. Names of companies that visited this year (2020-2021) were Eigopathshala, Sherekhan, BAOIAM, etc. However, not all students in my college were searching for jobs just as yet.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fee Structure is very reasonable for a campus in such a nice and easily commutable locality. I got two internships from my college, one at a start-up, BAOIAM, and the other at Anti Corona Taskforce. Both the internships were unpaid but ready good for skill development and exposure.
Campus Life
Shivaji college campus is vast. It is spacious, green and clean. The buildings are connected so the movement is easier around the college. Classrooms have projectors, screens, charging points, etc. Sports are highly appreciated and extracurricular activities too. The music and theatre societies are one of the best in DU. In front of the college entrance (after crossing the road), Sports Complex is there. It is the spot at which the Annual Cultural Fest of Shivaji College, Vibrations is held.
