Shivaji College- Review

Shivaji was the first college I applied for. I saw the cut-off and went for admission. I waited for 2 hours till the whole procedure was done. I got admission on basis of the best of four subjects and got a relaxation of 1% for being a woman. So I got admission at 91 %.

I chose this course because I wanted to do something in subjects I like which are English and economics. I wanted to English Hons but due to my less percentage, I didn’t get admission to a good college so i went for the next best option Ba program. Teaching was good enough in my college. Every teacher is well qualified. 25 marks were for assignments and class tests. And at the end of sem there was exam of 75 marks . If you study well you can pass exams it was not that difficult. Inside in exams like Hindi, I faced problems but yet I passed them.

Many internships opportunities are available in college. Name of Some of the companies myglamm-influencer management- 10000pm, apk perks -marker research analyst -5000 pm, oddy labs -content writer-4000pm, super tails-graphic designer- 8k pm, star net fex- marketing- 5000 pm, trivayu -digital marketing - no stipend,v united - social media marketing- no stipend, zabe - graphic designer -performance-based stipend, prep junction - business development- performance-based incentive.

Placements of college are good. Anyone can apply for internships in college. 65+ companies visited the college for placements some of them are brand pipers, TDG partners, Successor, cview, kiyou, cprg India, Bank of America, mumz, fello, bs group, etc . some profiles offered are social media intern, sales, fraud prevention, content developers, assistant, analyst, human resource, digital marketing, marketing intern, campus ambassador, data operation, content writer, technical and media role, graphic designer, UI/UX designing, generalist, android developer, web development, Social media head, pr and marketing, blog writer, community head, operations, and analyst. 650+ participants went for this year's placements. Maybe I will go for a job or will go for Masters in English or B. ed.

The fee structure is quite good. 12000 per year, As for single parents my mother, it was affordable. But due to covid crisis, we paid last yr 6000 something. College does provide scholarships but I don’t know much about that. Financial assistance is also there in my college for students as per my knowledge. Campus jobs are available through the placement cell of the college.

Vibrations is the annual fest of our college which is amazing. It is conducted in the month of February. There are many other departmental fests held by our college. Availability of books is fine. Because sometimes I was not able to get the English books which I wanted. And if I talk about the infrastructure of the library it is quite good. Sports activities are quite good. Every year sports day is celebrated in our college to encourage the students to participate more. There are very many extracurricular activities like dance, photography, music, theatre, arts, debating, fashion. And every student in the society does a lot of hard work and being part of any society a student can learn a lot. Me being part of the dance and photography society learned many things and it was quite a wonderful experience being in society. There are social groups like NSS etc run by students of the college.
