Remarks
Admission happened through IMU CET and the whole process is pretty simple.Budget friendly college for marine engineering. Its a government college.Second to only tolani institute pune.Scholarships are available for top 50 ranks.Faculty and infrastructure is not top class but can manage.Placements are good only if you are good academically.Mess food is average and most rely on delivery service.New hostel buildings are coming up hence it will be much better for new comers cause old ones are in a mess.Labs are average with simulator lab standing out.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course curriculum is pretty similar to mechanical till 3rd year. Its heavily reliant on physics and mathematics. Faculty to student ratio is good. Faculties are qualified but teaching methods are poor. Sem exams every 6 months and questions stay in syllabus. Exams are of average difficulty
Placement Experience
2021 was a bad year for campus placements. There was a huge delay in the process. As of now almost 50 percent cadets are placed. Students are eligible for placement from 2nd year as NYK and chevron takes cadets from 2nd year. Majority of companies come in 3 rd year including anglo eastern, fleet, msc, scorpio etcPackages are similar ranging from 1.5 lakhs to 2.5 lakhs depending on type of vessel
Fee Structure And Facilities
Annual fees is 2,25,000 for my batch. Scholarships are available every semester for top 50 ranks from 1 lakh to 50 thousand. Exam fees are around 3000 rupees each sem.Stipend for college placement jobs range from 30 k to 50 k in the beginning.
Campus Life
Annual fest is tempest. Its pretty good and includes cultural, technical, sports programs. Almost all kinds of sports are available for cadets on campus-football, cricket, hockey, basketball etc. Marine journals, books, novels, articles are available in the campus library and its a pretty good collection.
