Entrance Preview

I didn't give many miscellaneous exams but BMS. Although, I did try really hard to get in through ECA trials in music. English was always my passion, but so was music, which is why I yearned for North Campus. I started off by taking admission in Motilal Nehru College. From then in the next list, I jumped to ARSD, and finally in the very unexpected 8th cut-off list, I got DCAC. That was the best decision ever.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course structure is good. But personally, I feel that the quality has deteriorated over the course of time. Colleges no more have the adequate well equipped faculty of teachers to do justice to the course syllabus. At the end of the day, everything came down to studying from Spark notes and Wikipedia during exam days.

Internships Opportunities

I'm not sure of whether my college provides internships or not. But they do provide us with jobs in the third year to be taken up after college. The package is decent. Depends on the field exclusively.

Placement Experience

3.5

The placement has always been good in DCAC. Some of the really great brands are heard to come in each year. The college makes sure to provide great exposure. The opportunities vary from course to course. For instance, for literature, you don't get too many companies coming in for placements. While on the other hand, students from economics and B.com are picked up instantly by many.

College Events

3.5

DCAC is pretty amazing when it comes to cultural activities. From Clean & Clear organising their Fresh Face to DJ nights, DCAC is one of the most happening colleges in DU. Their annual college fest takes place somewhere around Arpil, which is called 'Ambrosia'. Apart from that, Every department in college organises their respective festivals around the months of January and February.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is very feasible. It is one of the best things that the university offers along with the brand name that it gives you. Though the fees varies from course to course, but all courses in the DU fall under 10k maximum. For my course, the fees was around 5-6K, I don't remember the exact figure, but very reasonable.

Fees and Financial Aid

No, I do not know of any load service that the college provides. I'm not too sure about any scholarship scheme, too, but I think there is some provision to get some assistance in this area.

Campus Life

2

Campus life in DCAC is something one would be proud of the most after leaving college. After yearning so much for a college in North Campus, DCAC made me more than satisfied and happy, and also made me realise of what the north campus lacks. The gender ratio here is pretty much equal, that is 50-50. It is well diversified environment to be part of. Extra-curricular activities here are good, especially sports.

Hostel Facilities

3

My college does not provide any hostel facilities but the college canteen is fine. The food is served nicely and the rates are also very reasonable. It has a fun environment, and makes a good place to eat while you have a nice time with your friends too.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni network is something I can't talk much about. It was only this one time that I performed on the Alumni Meet and the attendance was not really good then. As of now, me being an alumni of the college am being contacted pretty often to be a part of the alumni network. It all depends on the elected council every year, I believe. Every leader has a different approach towards designing the outlook of the college.

Exam Structure

The exam structure is the same as others. 25% of Internal Assessment plus 75% of Written Exam. The internals take place throughout the semester. Each year has two semesters followed by semester exams at the end. A cumulative result is then taken out by adding the weightage of the internals and written exams.

Admission

Admission in DCAC was nothing less than magic. It is very unlikely to see the 8th cut off release, but in my case it did. Admission wasn't a hassle in the college, but taking refunds from the other two colleges made it a little difficult. As soon as the list came, I ran to the college and asked them to book a seat since I would have needed a day or two to get my originals from ARSD.

Faculty

3.5

The faculty of my college was decent. Better than other colleges, but it wasn't the best. I think the whole of DU is in dire need of good teachers who do justice to the subject they teach, at least. A literature teacher making mistakes with the tenses is definitely not my first option when I sign up in DU to pursue my bachelors.

The course curriculum is a bit too theoretical and less practical. The exams in the college takes places every month which are seasonals and are for internal marking and then we have semester exams in every 6 months which accounts for the external marking.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

The course offers many things for students interms of their further academic pursuits or any placement they are looking for. Talking about the areas of improvement and teaching methods there are none. The exams of the respective subject are to happen. They take test 1 , test 2 and there is final exams.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
