Remarks

LSR is by all right the number one college of the country.

Entrance Preview

I did not take any entrance examination for this college. The admission was based on 12th CBSE boards percentage. I scored 97% (BFS) in commerce stream. I wanted to do Economics and LSR is the number one college for this course in our country. So I chose LSR.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

Economics is a vast course. And the DU curriculum does justice to it. We are enrolled in CBCS system and have general electives in first four semesters which is an additional advantage since you get to study subjects out of your course too. My chosen elective is statistics and it has helped me a lot.

Internships Opportunities

Our college has a placement cell but it is not compulsory for one to take up an internship before graduation. We have a lot of companies that come up and stipend varies based on a lot of factors.

Placement Experience

4

I am a second year and I don't know exactly how many companies came for placements and what did they offer! a lot of companies come for internships and stipend differs.

College Events

5

We have severa events in our college right from society events to department fests to college events. Society events include society competitions (national level) like dance soc, dramsoc, western music society etc. Department fests include every department's fest and Tarang is the annual college fest.

Fee Structure And Facilities

DU fees is feasible enough for me. DU has subsidesed fees and it comes out to be very low as compared to private universities. Last year my college fees for my course was 16,000 and this year it came down to 12,000 which is very low. Therefore, this has helped several low income category students.

Fees and Financial Aid

I haven't availed any scholarship or loan facility from our college. All I know is that there are freehsips and scholarships available.

Campus Life

4

Ours is a girls college so I can really not talk about gender ratio. We have around 25 socities and every one of them is the best in their own field. Regular sessions and worskhops are organised by each one of them which are mostly quie good. There is cultural diversity and no discrimination on any grounds whatsoever.

Hostel Facilities

4

I live in a PG nearby our college. My room is on ground floor and Its a 3 seater room. There are two other rooms on my floor, both 3 seaters. All the three rooms are AC rooms. There are 2 non-ac rooms in the basement which are 2 seaters. The food is okay according to the rent.

Alumni/Alumna

There is an alumni cell and I am not connected to it. Seniors are quite helpful but I haven't had any interaction with any alumni.

Exam Structure

We have internals which are 25 marks. 25 marks are divided into 2 internals and attendance. We don't have a fixed schedule for internals and decide the dates mutually. For semester final papers, a datesheet is published by DU itself which is same for all colleges and depends on your course.

Faculty

4.5

LSR faculty is among st the most qualified faculty of India. Or teachers are always there to clear our doubts whether in tutorials or in classes or otherwise. Morever, the teaching methods are exemplary too. They have patience and sometimes even connect with students on a more informal level.

The course curriculum is a bit too theoretical and less practical. The exams in the college takes places every month which are seasonals and are for internal marking and then we have semester exams in every 6 months which accounts for the external marking.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
