Remarks

Admission to the BSc course in Fergusson college is completely merit-based. First, you need to apply for admission in online mode then wait for your name to be in the merit list. FC releases 3 merit lists for BSc course and once you get a seat in this college you'll be called for document verification and submission of the documents offline. Course Curriculum Overview

4

I want to do something remarkable in the field of research hence I chose this course. The student-faculty ratio is very good. It's 20:1 and also proper guidance is given whether it is career-related, competition-related, or any other project or internship-related. Teachers are very hardworking and they take all the possible effort. They encourage research-related works and also help students to gain new skills which are in more demand and also help students for their skill improvement and qualities like communication, leadership, Teaching, etc. Also, one more important thing is they always try to make students understand the practical application of everything they are teaching. Exams are conducted in such a way that students develop problem-solving skills and logical thinking.

Placement Experience

2.5

Highest package that the BSc students get is 4 lakh per annum. While the average is 2.5-3 lakh per annum. Many good companies visit Fergusson college for placements and there are several rounds for the same. First you have to give Aptitude test then there is Group discussion round. After that you get a interview call and then the final interview round using some apps like zoom, Google meet, etc. 20% of BSc students get placements while in BSc CS almost every one gets a good company. The Placement cell is very good. One of the teacher co ordinates with the companies and arrange a placement meet. Overall package and job offers are very good. They hire you, negotiable for the salary and then they give you training for 2-3 months and then According to your work and knowledge you get good position, work and salary in the respective companies. Once you accept the offer you are said to sign an agreement letter. Also after the contract gets over you can apply in different companies.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees for government-aided courses are very low and if you wish to do some non aided courses then you have manage the finances otherwise the fees are very low and affordable. The person who tops the exam gets a scholarship from the college and also students who have done good in their HSC exam get SHE INSPIRE Scholarship of Rs. 60000 for academics and if they do any research related projects they get Rs.20000 for the research related works every year. If your economical conditions are critical they also offer programs like learn and earn where you get a chance to earn money by doing some works in the campus in the offices and get money from it. Also teachers provide them personal financial help and also offers them to take tuitions of students for their financial support.

Campus Life

5

Every year there is a big fest organized on the college campus for refreshments, enjoyment and to bring creativity out of students. Each department organizes its own departmental fest and gives it a unique and fascinating name and it takes place for 4-5 days where you have saree- tie day, traditional day, departmental fests, etc. In fests, each department organizes their own games, competition and also keep interesting, fascinating, and attractive rewards for the winners of each game and competition. There is a big library called Wadia library where you get all the books whether it is novel, storybook, study-related reference books or any other stuff. All kinds of books are available. And the construction of the library is just amazing. There are a lot of sports competitions happening on the college campus and also there are a basketball court and two big playgrounds for outdoor sports like football, cricket, etc. The whole campus ambiance is marvelous and also the buildings. Best college

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose Biotechnology because it is a multidisciplinary field. We get to study not only topics related to biotechnology but also biochemistry, bio physics, bio informatics, bio statistics, etc. Mostly everything that is essential for future exams is taught during the span of 3 years. The topics of the units are taught in depth but the questions asked during exams are comparatively easy as to what all we studied. The frequency of the exam is, 1 internal exam which consists of both mcqs and written exam, the semester exam for each semester and practical exams for each subject. If u have studied then you will be able to attempt the questions.

Placement Experience:

My college gives campus placement placement opportunities typically after 4th semester, which is the 2nd half of the 2nd year. As my college has a partnership with IBM so the standards of campus placement go right up as the placement depends on the curriculum performance of the student so can't really say much for this. If saying as a stalemate, getting a placement is basically confirmed if the student maintains his/her CGPA of 6-7, which shows the consistent of the student in their field.
