Remarks
I have applied to various colleges of Delhi University like Aurobindo and Rajdhani College but I selected this one as 'DCAC' has got brand value. Located in one of the poshest areas of Delhi the college when it comes to enjoying your college life is Great. For admission in BA (Hons.) The history you need to have a minimum of passing marks in board exams however these days it is not sufficient and you need to score at least 90% irrespective of the category. You should be 10+2 irrespective of any stream in your school. Age is no bar over here.
Course Curriculum Overview
I selected this course since I was interested in becoming an Archaeologist and History always fascinates me. The faculty here is actually quite nice. Both permanent and Adhoc faculty teach here. The professors in this University are quite lenient when it comes to assignments, This is the best college for this course if you are preparing for further studies and UPSC exams. There were 10 to 15 professors for my course that were teaching the three years of Graduation. The teachers here are mostly quite experienced as well as old with vast knowledge.
Placement Experience
here is the CENTRAL PLACEMENT CELL (CPC) of Delhi University that provides placement opportunities however college provides very little support when it comes to placement. The Students of BCom as well as Economics Hons. do get placed however this is not the case with the students of the other courses. There are very less placement opportunities in the college. Most of the students opt for further studies as well as for other competitive exams.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees are quite less during my days. It was something like 6000-7000 per year and I graduated maybe with spending merely approx Rs 25000. However, you need to purchase books as well as notes. The college does provide scholarships to students with merits as well as rank holders. Financial assistance is provided to the students who can't afford the fees. There were very less opportunities for campus jobs in my course since it's not a professional course and many students go for further studies as well as in other fields.
Campus Life
The annual fest of DCAC is AMBROSIA that is organized mainly in the month of February in my days and the students of all the courses participate in it. There are a large number of books as well as e-resources available in the library plus a large sitting hall where we can sit and study. The classrooms are quite simple only with fans and lights as well as a projector that hardly works and a whiteboard. The classes need renovation. The new building though is in better condition. There is a large canteen. as well as a large playground where the students can play. There are various societies in DCAC that one can join apart from being enrolled in their course like ENACTUS
Other Applied Colleges
Rajdhani College, New Delhi | Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] {Hons.} (Mathematics)
I was more interested in. History
