Remarks

The admission process is simple. When I applied in 2020, admissions took place on the basis of merit which is the percentage one scored in their 12th exams. Physical education is an invalid subject in Delhi University so you'll have to remove the score you secured in it if you had opted for it in your best four. Your best four marks are basically your marks in English + 3 more subjects in which you scored the best. In case one faces problems while applying after the cut offs are released than each college has a nodal officer for the same. However, this year onwards there is going to be CUCET for examination in all undergrad courses of Delhi University.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

English (H) at Delhi University follows the CBCS pattern. There are 6 semester and exams after each semester. English (H) will be the perfect course for you if you really like reading literature because we basically analyze and study texts from different periods and written by diverse authors all around the world. I chose this course because I wish to pursue it further in my masters and doctorate. Moreover, an English undergrad can easily get content writing and editorial jobs as well as they can pursue journalism or even an MBA. The faculty of English at Ramanujan College is overall really supportive and understanding until and unless you are disrespectful towards them. All the professors are well-qualified and contributive towards the critical thinking of the students. In total there are around 9 professors in the English Department. The term exams occur at regular intervals and it's easy to pass them if you attend 60 percent of the classes attentively and submit your internals on time

Internships Opportunities

3.5

The roles of junior auditors, sales managers, and data analysts are offered to students. The stipend varies from role to role but it could be anywhere from 5k to 15k. Most of the students who opt for internships are awarded certificates, LOR, and stipends. Essentially they receive a learning environment and support from the college authorities to pursue their internships in offline mode. The companies like Decathlon, Tata, KPMG etc have visited the campus.

Placement Experience

3.5

There is a placement cell that works I'm the college. It recently had organized a placement and internship fair called Aarambh for the students which was a success. The placement cell is dedicated towards securing good opportunities for students and around 300+ students received placements last year. However, the placements are mostly for technical courses, commerce courses and management students. Placements are not provided for arts students because they generally pursue higher education.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees is 20k for the first two years and 13.5k for the last year. There is a provision to submit the fees in two installments but you'll have to apply for it separately. There are scholarships for academically good students and also the college gave 100% scholarships to students during the pandemic if any of their parents expired. Financial assistance was provided to others who could not pay the fees due to the pandemic. There is no fee hike.

Campus Life

5

The fest takes place every year in the month of December/November. It's name changes every year. We have a cultural event too and apart from that various societies organize their own events, for example, the environmental society 'Tatva' organized Petrichor recently which featured street plays. The library is digitalis and well-stocked with books. There is also a reading room and wifi-availibilty on campus. Every class room has a projector and the rooms in the main building have Air conditioning. There is a football, cricket, volleyball and basketball team. Apart from that, there are many societies dedicated to different domains including girlup and WDC for women empowerment, first cut for filmmaking, DNA for dance, Laytaal for classical dance, Shivranjani for music, Ramanujan Consulting Club for consultancy, Placement cell, Jaana for theater, Panache for fashion, etc

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
