Great but expensive

You must have a minimum of 60% marks in higher and higher secondary levels (10th and 12th) and a minimum of 60% in aggregate in physics, chemistry and mathematics in higher secondary level (12th), You can apply either through the online UPES Engineering Aptitude Test (UPESEAT) or through JEE merit. You can find the application form on the official website of UPES (admissions.upes.ac.in) and fill it by paying a fee of Rs. 1350 as of 2022, the last date to register as per the official website is 31 July. For residents of Uttrakhand bonafide, 15% of the seats are reserved and will be provided on the basis of merit. An improvement I would like to see in the admission process is to reduce the amount of fee required to fill out the form.

The curriculum of Btech CSE was very well suited for a great learning experience and as I always wanted to pursue a career in cybersecurity, as well as being closer to my hometown and a great location overall, I decided that this university would be a great choice. It has a decent ratio of students: to faculty. There are over 500 national and international faculty at UPES, most of them having strong industry-academia backgrounds. From highly acclaimed professors to leaders of global organisations, UPES has some of the most respected academicians and industry experts on board. It has 2 sets of exams each semester apart from assessment tests by the faculties on a regular basis. The exams were decently prepared that was concept based and easy to pass if the concepts are clear.

Decent internships are offered on the basis of knowledge, skills, projects, sometimes CGPA, and the quality of the institute. UPES has a good reputation in the industry. Their students today are working in big firms like Amazon, IBM, Adobe, Google, etc.

In the placement drive of 2022, more than 3800 students were placed and over 2840 unique offers were made. The highest CTC of 50.09 LPA and average CTC of INR 8.37 LPA were offered to students. Recruiters like Boing, Deloitte, and Wipro participated in 2022

It is one of the most expensive universities in India so if you're thinking to come here, you should be ready to spend some money. Scholarships are provided to some of the students with exceptional merit.

Uurja and Ignite are the 2 annual tech fests organised by UPES, Dehradun. Uurja is celebrated in October. The UPES library is pretty vast and all the curriculum books can be issued both from the library for the digital library provided by UPES. Classrooms and labs are well equipped with all the required and latest facilities. UPES has a football ground, doubling as a cricket field, basketball courts, badminton courts and volleyball courts on the Bidholi campus. There are plenty of student clubs and chapters managed and run by the students of UPES, such as CSI, CSA, ISC, etc.
