Remarks
Admission was based on class 12th board exam marks. The candidate should have passed 10+2 with PCM. Reservation was according to the rules of the state of Maharashtra. Almost half of the seats are reserved. All admission-related stuff is on the college website. One improvement should be that an entrance examination should be conducted for admissions.
Course Curriculum Overview
B.Sc CS is one of the top courses and Fergusson College is a great college to pursue it. The course offers great placement opportunities. The faculty is good, although sometimes they start teaching in Marathi, making it difficult for other students. The course has two divisions with a strength of about 90 students each. Some teachers have done their Ph.D. and others have completed their masters. The pattern of the college mission is good and exams are conducted frequently with moderate difficulty.
Placement Experience
The placements start from the 5th semester onward and some of the top companies visit the college for higher students some of the companies are Deloitte, Snyder electric, D E SHAW, Capgemini, and other companies. The percentage of students getting placed every year is around 80 to 90% with the remaining students mostly applying for masters. The highest package was around 5 LPA and the lowest was around 2.8. the students either set for placement and get a job while others prepare for other examinations and mostly for pursue master's degree in the same course.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee for the first year is 49000 and in the subsequent years, the fees are reduced. In other colleges, a course for paper use and college is cheaper and the placement opportunities of the college are better than in other colleges for the same course.
Campus Life
Every year a department of the college conducts its own fest and the college conducts a sports fest called Josh. The first is mostly conducted around the month of January. The college has one of the biggest and oldest libraries and the availability of books is great. The rooms are big and they are enough to seat 100 students. Fergusson College has a Gymkhana and the sports facilities are football and other grounds are there also.
