Remarks

I got admission in the year 2021 and the admission process was so easy because of the cutoff process. I've opted for the Ba Hons Geography at Shivaji College in DU and the cutoff mark was 94%, where seat availability was around 80. If you want to take admitted wait for the cutoff after that DU will open up their admission portal for all the courses the process is not hectic just prepare with all the documents for STD 12th, TC of the previous school, and certificate for reservation ( EWS, SC, ST, OBC). DU will return your fees in form of a Fee concession if you are eligible for this. College fees for Ba Hons Geography are around 23000 and this is for 1 year only, the overall fee for the subject is 60000.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I've opted for BA Hons Geography because of the scope in civil services and for teaching purposes, and also I like this subject very much. At DU students' capacity for Ba Hons, Geography is around 60 and the faculty is a total of 15. Teachers of Geography Hons are very much experienced and also very much connected to the Students. All teachers are very much qualified as they spend time in the research field too. Teachers also held some counseling sessions for the students for better interaction and to solve the problem of them they are not able to ask in class. Every 3_4 months, a semester exam is held, and in a year two semesters exams are held. Ba Hons Geography is of 3 years and DU is known for its punctuality and you got your degree in 3 years only. Exams nature are not that hard because the teaching quality of teachers is very good. Exams questions are generally repeated in nature and generally of the syllabus.

In an internship, you are going to get jobs in well-known companies and you get jobs on respected posts and have to be skilled with better accessibilities. Mainly the firms related to technology mainly organize internship programs.

Placement Experience

4.5

In Shivaji College DU students of all years are eligible and can get jobs according to their skills and experience. In college, the companies like TATA, SUZUKI, and other techno companies are there for campus placements Students are getting jobs are very high if they are well-skilled and experienced and if someone wants jobs to have to very qualified. I want to pursue a Master's degree after my college degree is completed, also want to get jobs in technical sectors.

Fees and Financial Aid

In Shivaji College DU generally, fees are low as compared to other private universities like LPU and AMITY. The fees for my course total around 60000 for 3 years and you have to pay around 20000 every year. College also provides a fee concession policy for students who are eligible for it. ST students are getting full concession in fees in fees concession form. SC and ST students are provided with free civil services classes for better preparation. The college has a placement cell that offers different kinds of jobs according to the type of eligibility you have. You can get jobs you have better skills and experience you have.

Campus Life

5

Shivaji College DU organizes so many fests in their respective departments and yearly college held an annual fest in memory of the college where singers like Jubin nautical were our guests. We can say Shivaji College DU has the best library around all off-campus. Here you can get all kinds of books related to your academic syllabus and others books are also available. Classes are well equipped with technological and smart equipment that help in study and easy access to research material. Shivaji College has a very big ground for cricket and football as well kabbadi too. All departments have their own societies for overall development and also help in interacting with other colleges while inter-college competition.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
