An upcoming college

The eligibility is it quality of the Neet examination. When I entered this college via state quota the cut-off for the last seat was 46500. The registration and admission are vis KEA, which is an exam board of Karnataka which has the link to all the admission from the government colleges of Karnataka. There are 2 seats reserved for OBC- 3A category in every government college. The improvement would be to make it all online and hassle-free

I chose this course because MBBS intrigued me as a child and till the present. There are about 60 faculties for 1000 students. It is a very rough figure and we are about 150 students in each class. All the facilities are either MBBS graduates along with some higher degree or tutors with masters. We have term exams every 3 months conducted internally. It is very hard to pass these as the teachers do very strict corrections along with the tough paper settings.

We don't get placements in companies instead these a compulsory paid internship programmes within the college for 1 year followed by paid rural service for 1 year which pays you 30k and 60k respectively.

The fee per year costs about 71,500. Which is a bit higher for a government institution. Along with this, the books cost another fortune. Each book costs around 1k. And the hostel and mess fee together makes for about 40k a year. So there is almost a 1.5 lac or more of expenditure academically apart from personal expenses. We do have scholarships for financially backward-class people.

We do have an annual fest every year which is quite grand usually in the month of March or April. We have all the required books and journals stocked in the library. Classrooms are fine but are covered with fungus due to the weather here in Coorg. We have a lot of Instagram pages run by students which is like a distraction from all the stress

Our hostel isn't a good one. We don't have proper water or electricity facilities. We get water only twice a day for 1 hour each. And there is no generator. The laundry is self done so is the cleaning. Given the whether the clothes Don dry and catch fungus pretty easily. Mess food is horrible, I have developed irritable bowel syndrome due to this. Registration is done during the admission time only
