Eligibility:- 10+2 , JEE Advance Application form: will be released after JEE Mains is over. Website: jeeadv.ac.in Reservation: yes, different types of reservations are there. Like, Female quota (to enhance the gender ratio in IITs), and SC /ST /OBC reservations No comments regarding its justification? The admission process is quite a chill...no headache at all...

Course Curriculum Overview

Choice of course: 1. had the desire to be a part of old IITs ... 2. Wanted some free time for myself 3. Course curriculum is also not so hectic Student ratio: something around 1:5 for my branch Qualification: all profs are Ph.D. holders of either Top notch IITs or foreign universities... teaching style is also good... Every event is perfectly managed...so no time delay in exams and all.. Difficulty is quite subjective...so it depends...

Class Size: 98Course Fees: INR 308000 per year

Internships Opportunities

Internship opportunities are quite good. Easy to grab if someone has worked for it... Top companies like Google, Microsoft, Amazon, etc provide internship opportunities...and possibly PPOs also... Depending on performance.

Placement Experience

Campus placement starts from the 4th year... many students also get PPOs. Lots of reputed companies like Amazon, Flipkart, Microsoft, Google, De Shaw, Atlassian, Adobe, Goldman Sachs, etc... frequently visit the campus... Average package for CSE goes around 35-40 LPA For Chemical Engineering, It's somewhere around 21 LPA... Percentage of students placed - CSE- 100% Chemical - 90% approx

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees are increasing every year...but if someone has financial difficulties...then different types of scholarships are also provided by the institute itself...like McM(Merit cum means based). Internship opportunities are quite decent... Many reputed companies provide internship opportunities...

Campus Life

College life is awesome...one just needs to make a balance between studies and other activities... Annual Cultural fest- Alcheringa (largest cultural fest of North East) Other than that, many other fests like Spirit, Spardha and many more are there...

Hostel Facilities

All hostels are quite good... Before COVID... everyone used to get a single room for 1st year only...but nowadays, due to damages in a hostel building students are accommodated in double occupancy... The food is quite good here... Breakfast - 4.8/5 Lunch -3.8/5 Dinner - 4.2/5

Placement Experience:

Placements at IIT Guwahati are excellent especially in the tech field ,with high placement rates and strong average packages generally Rs 30 lakh per annum. Top companies regularly visit the campus. After completing the course if i do not get placed on campus which is hardly possible i'll look for other off campus placements.

A calm and disciplined campus life at JIST

Course Curriculum Overview:

Most of the professors are good here.The college covers the core subjects required for strong foundation in engineering. However the theoretical coverage is good the scope for practical exposure is still required.

Placement Experience:

The placement is quite good in my college. In 7 th semester the placements start and the package goes from 16lpa to 2 cr . About 75 percent student who applied got placed . I want to work in a software firm.

The placement of Assam engineering College is average as compared to the other colleges like iit and not. Aec gives placement around 20-24 lakhs and many company parts in the placement cell and many of the students get their dream job

Placement Experience:

Students normally appear for placements in fourth year with two placement seasons namely from december to january and february to march. Companies include quant companies and tech giants like JPMC, Reliance Industries, WellsFargo,Piramal, Standard Chartered,Texas Instrumentation, walmart, Microsoft, Amazon, Deloitte,Oracle, HCL, Barclays, Tata steel, uber, legato, Mastercard, Nutanix, BPCL, BEL,PWC, Socgen, etc. Almost 80% students get placed every year with the average package ?1,60,000. The highest package was 1.68 crore per annum from the branch of Computer Science.

ASSAM UNIVERSITY SILCHAR , THE GOOD THE BAD AND THE UGLY

Placement Experience:

only fourth year students are eligible for campus placements . the detalis of the visiting compaies are not thte sure but at least 10 stuents are placed each year from every single batch. the higest so far was 20 lpa and it was in amazon , the student who cracked that placement applied it off campus . on campus placement was not more than 10 lpa so far . the percentage of students getting placemnets are less than 50% not because of quality of placement but majority stuents opt for higher studies or goverment jobs rather than direct placement . my paln is to also pursue higher education

5 or 6 semester onwards students are eligible for internships in off campus . They can opt for PPO. There are severe companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Adobe, Flipkart, and some top MNCs . overall campus is perfect to spend 4 years

Charmingly Challenging Champion

Placement Experience:

After the 6th sem placement season starts. The intern season takes place at the end of the 4th sem. The placement of the college is extremely good. The average package of the college is around 21 lakhs. That of CSE is 41 lakhs. Mncs is 35 lakhs etc. Projected package of my branch DSAI is 40 lakhs.

I chose IIT Guwahati because of a strong IIT brand , excellent placements and comparetively lower fees. Compare to other IIT's it provied good campus expreience and less academic pressure. Compare to other NIT's , private colleges ,IIT Guwahati stands out in every fields. If one coudn't make it too higher IIT's it's because of not elegible after the JEE advanced rank as competition is very intense. Detailed and Unbiased Review

I have applied for DTU & IIITD where I got Software Engineering Branch through the JEE Mains Scores. But since I was sure to join old IIT. I was not sure much about branches so, I just filled all the core and circuital branches of all Old IITs. I wasn't able get other top IITs as my rank in JEE Advanced was not that level. Admission Process: Involves early payments of fees before arrival to the Campus.
