IIT GUWAHATI: A dream come true

You have to write JEE Main exam then after that you have to write JEE advanced to get a seat in IITS. The eligibility is you should be class 12 appearing or a 12 passed(one-year dropper) All the details of dates and application will be there on NTA and JEE Advanced Website. I used the General EWS Reservation by making an EWS certificate. There is no improvement required in the admission process. It is the best admission process to judge whether a person is capable of handling this pressure or not.

I choose this course because it gives me a variety of options in the future and helps me to follow my interest. Through this course, I can go to government jobs, core electrical and electronics jobs, and IT jobs. There are many faculty in a single course, they are also many Ph.D. students who are teaching assistants (T.A). The profs and other faculty members are all degree holders but their teaching skills are very poor or less interactive. They just read slides and their job is done. Exams here occur very frequently and to ace the exams we need to study regularly.

For full-time internship, Generally starts in the summer of 3rd year. Companies that provide internships are Microsoft, Google, Goldman Sachs, and Samsung. The stipend on average is around 70 thousand per month. Mostly in internships, we are given a project to work on hackathons.

Students get pre-placements offered for 5 semesters only, but the final placement occurs in the last semester only. The big companies visited are Google, Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, apple, and many more. The total no of offers made is roughly 300. The highest package offered was 2.4 crore per annum and the overall average package was 22 lakhs per annum. Above 90% of students got placed. My plans after getting a degree do a job in the IT sector and do invest in the stock market.

Since it is a government college so the fees and cost of the hostel and mess are quite affordable. Also, my family income is less than 4.5 lakhs so I get a 2/3 remission in fees waiver also after there is also an mcm scholarship for a 100% tuition fee waiver.

The central library of our college is very big and contains almost all types of books and journals. It is a great place for self-study. in most of the new classrooms, there is a socket also for charging and the room is fully air-conditioned. In IITs, there is a huge opportunity for extracurricular activities and sports. Almost all types of outdoor and indoor games you can play like cricket, football, badminton, basketball, squash, and many more. The clubs of our college are very active, in a month there are 2-4 events. there are a variety of clubs are there for each individual like dance club, coding club, movie club, and many more.

Actually, our hostel was the oldest hostel in college, so there are not many facilities but it is far better than other college hostels. the WIFI facility in each room is appreciable. the mess breakfast is just 5 stars but the lunch and dinner are almost average enough to give an overall rating of 3.5. on Sundays, we get good food for dinner which is an A+ point. The hostels are situated on our campus only.
