Remarks
I got admitted to B. A. History honors with 96% in the best four. The application form and details were there on DU's site. However, for being updated with dates one needs to keep checking personally to not miss those. All was good with the online admission process of our year. Just that the college authorities should work on reverting quickly on payments and confirmation of admission. Also, there were no details of TIC provided to me after admission. I had to find those from the college site.
Course Curriculum Overview
Through I had an interest in my selected course, I had Political Science at the top of my priority list. However, I did not clear the cutoffs for that. I had an acquaintance who was herself a student of Gargi College so I took her reviews on the college and finally took admission. The faculty especially of history here is considered to be one of the best, therefore I chose this course. And I don't regret it a bit. The faculty members are qualified and pursue different teaching methods for a great classroom environment( conduct trips to supplement class learning). The timings for exams( for all the colleges in DU) were hampered for three semester and they were scheduled earlier as OBE by keeping the pandemic in mind. The OBE exams used to be quite hectic as we were not used to those and it did not give that exam hall environment too. It had been only 2 seems since we appeared for offline exams. For me, they were not difficult to pass. The questions to are usually based on the PYQs only.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees had got hiked by almost 2k. However, the main issue is that there's no hostel in the college. And for the outstation students, living around the areas of college is costly. The college does provide Student Welfare Fund for needy students based on evidence like income certificates. But it is a little less than half of the total fee amount. The assistance amount needs to be increased.
Campus Life
The annual fest Reverie was conducted virtually last year. Though there are many books and journals in the library, they aren't arranged properly. However, many more materials including those for PWD are required. More classrooms are needed as per the class size. And there should be staircase facilities for PWD too. The sports activities and extracurricular activities might be regular for the societies( though students who are not part of those rarely saw those reflected on the campus, times are changing and with the incoming of the new batch and "post-pandemic" times, the college does thrive with different activities). However, some socs do lag the team spirit and the right drive. There are various social media handles of different socs. Other than that, I don't have any idea of a website or anything else as such.
