Good but expensive

In terms of location and standard of education, it stands out to be very good. I could have never been able to so easily spend 4 years of my btech in any village, 25 kms far from the main town unless and until the location was so prime. At the time I took admission, even dominos didn't delivered pizza here. This was a great shock for me but the type of friends I met here made everything easy and worth remembering. Talking about the management as far as I remember, they are least concerned and very indecisive and rude. Although location is nice, it somewhat becomes dangerous at night. The village near our PG was very easily accessible by animals.

I got admitted here in this college on qualifying the university’s own admission exam i.e. UPESEAT and ranked 185 in all over India. Hence, I got admissions totally based upon merit. After the examination, only the counselling round was held at the institute and there was no interview at any time.

Course curriculum in the 1 st year focuses on almost every field in engineering whether it is Physics, Chemistry, basic Electronics engineering or English. Course here focuses more on logical thinking and help us develop it.

Our college provides enough opportunities of placement and internship but it based upon performance and knowledge. Although, stipend is not provided. Even many students get to do internship in some of the researches that our professors used to pursue along with the job within the campus. My friend Divyang was into this internship.

Being a student of petroleum branch which is the best trade here, I have come to know that our college excels in terms of placement for almost every branch but every time, petroleum has an edge over others. BPCL and GAIL are amongst the top and mass recruiters in our college. The average package goes up to around 5-6 lakhs per annum.

A variety of events are organized here in the college every year related to every topic namely Ignite as technical and Uurja as cultural fest. The cultural fest is a 4 day long fest. Although my experience was not good at all in these fests so I would give it a 5 out of 10. Apart from fest, college freshers is also organised at a very big level. College authorities are least cooperative and worst in giving funds. It is the students who somehow or the other arrange the funds.

In terms of education costs, our college has a very expensive fees structure that costs up to about 4-5 lakhs per annum in all. For the batch 2013-17, tuition fees was about Rs 10 lakhs and that only includes the refundable security deposit of Rs. 20000.

Scholarships are based upon marks scored in class 12 th boards for UG courses and for 9.0 GPA for PG courses. Loan facilities are provided right at the time of counselling.

Students can explore all their talents here as we have ample resources for every field. The location of the college is so supreme that every student gets love the nature and realise its inner beauty. Most of my friends including me were part of the photography hub. There were so many prime locations where we could see galaxies as well as observe star trails. They used to give so much peace to the mind that I cannot tell. Even the college used to organise the outside camps for such locations.

In the initial semesters, I was there in the college hostel itself. It was either double or triple occupied. In terms of facilities in the hostel, it is well equipped in reality with full functionality. Rooms were attached with bathroom and was equipped with geysers. Food was acceptable. But because of its expensive accommodation I rented out a PG in a nearby village.

The Alumni network of this college is quite huge and well established with students in almost every part of the country as well around the globe. But there is very less interaction with Alumni as no Alumni meet has been organized till now.

Exams are very regular here and students’ performance is constantly monitored. A series of tests and exams are conducted throughout the year including some online tests and reflection tests. Rest of the exams are almost as same as other colleges and universities across the country. Labs and classes schedule was very exhaustive but as the time passed by, it became easy.

We have a very experienced and lenient faculty here and almost every one of them holds a PhD degree. Other than that, they have a lot of industrial training which helps us in gathering a professional point of view of every aspect. They were approachable as well as much friendly.
