Fun and flourishing

My graduation has been a wonderful journey for which I give full credits to my teachers and friends. the management is doing their work in the best way possible and we did not have to bother about anything other than our syllabus in college. I have no complaints with the college as it keeps on developing and growing each year. I still follow the college page on facebook and can see how students are enjoying with the events held in the college.

There was no entrance exam. The college releases its cut off list. I scored 84% and got admission in the year 2013 after I passed my school. I was an avid reader since childhood that's why I wanted to explore the field of literature.

DU has the same course, examination pattern, datesheet and internal assessment for all the colleges. The English literature course is divided according to different ages/periods based on literature movements or a particular genre(eg. British poetry, postcolonial literature). This structure helps students to focus on a particular age, their culture and mindset. The assignment helps us to research and analyse our course's texts and get a review from our teachers.

No the college doesn't provide any internship. The college is not affiliated with any company on a contract basis for

There is a campus placement cell in the college which holds interviews from different companies in the college campus. As I didn't enrolled in it because I wanted to pursue masters, so I don't have much knowledge about that. Usually the companies first take a written test and those who clear the written test and are then called for the personal interview round.

no I am not aware of any such thing offered by Laxmibai College.

Laxmibai is a girls college. due to a gap of one or two hours between lectures students have to spend their time in the campus. there are societies related to music, dance an drama. students are selected for these societies once in a year through auditions. rest of the year students practice in groups for these societies honing their skills and when the time comes they are also given chance to perform in the functions like independence day celebration, farewell, freshers, annual functions etc. also they can participate in competitions held in the college or in any other DU college and can win cash prizes and certificates.

Laxmibai college provides no hostel facilities. The canteen food is fine for filling your bellies but not so tasty according to the fast food fans. the canteen is big but during the lunch time or in afternoon it is full with students so you will not get a seat to have your lunch. the canteen provides both packed and freshly made kitchen food. the menu includes chole bhature, rajma chawal, chole chawal, patties, samosa, sandwich, macaroni, chowmein, biscuits, candies, chocolates, juices and different cold drinks. other than the college's canteen, there is a market just across the lane in front of the college. there are different restaurants serving different food varieties.

seniors are both friendly and rude as obviously it depends upon a person's behavior, so we cannot generalise that. I have not been in touch with many seniors but a few, and those were sweet and helpful in advising for our problems.

we have six semesters throughout our graduation. each year is divided into 2 semesters. students are expected to study their text books prescribed for a particular semester within 6 months and then have to give their exams. the exam pattern is not hectic for the students who prepare side by side with the teachers in the class

First f all I kept track of DU's common online application form. It was for 100/150 rupees. This form is the single form to apply for all the colleges which comes under DU(Exception-St. Stephen college, which requires you to visit the college and fill the form for St. Stephens's college separately).

The faculty is proficient and a mixture of both young and experienced teachers. Each lecturer teaches the course in which she/he excels. They are friendly and hold interactive lectures to ensure the participation of all students. I am still in touch with my teachers and they still guide me whenever I require their advice.
