A college for all round development

Overall experience was very good. Sometimes careless behavior is shown by the exam department regarding backlogs so that's bad.

I gave JEE mains exam. I scored 103 marks on it . I opted for this college because we get the degree of BIT Mesra after successful completion of the course which is very useful . The atmosphere of the college is also good for an overall development.

The course structure is really good. In the 1st year everyone has common subjects. There's a very good balance of the subjects throughout. The streamwise study starts in the 2nd year. The 1st year subjects are for the brief knowledge about all the branches.

Yes, in the last semester that is the 8th semester, the college invites many companies for giving internships. Maximum companies are from the IT sector which offers profiles like analytics, software development,core electronics. The stipend varies from 10k to 30k.

Maximum companies that came for placement are from the IT which offers placement to CSE, ECE, IT, EEE streams. The placement of the core streams like mechanical, production, civil is not good. We get to sit in companies that visit the mesra campus too. The percentage wise placement for different streams are as follows: CSE - 80% IT- 70% ECE - 50% EEE- 45% The average CTC is around 4 lakhs , maximum is 40 lakhs, minimum is 3 lakhs.

Technical and cultural event- "Technica" is the biggest event of the college which lasts around 3 to 4 days. Students participate in various technical and cultural competition which has cash winning prizes. It also has fashion contest which is very interesting. Prakrida- sport's fest The largest sport fest of Bihar . Games like football , volleyball, badminton etc are held with students from all over India participating in the event. Jhalak- fresher's welcome fest- cultural event for the welcome of the freshers

The fee structure is expensive. The average fee per semester is around 1 lakh 25 thousand excluding hostel. The hostel is served as no profit no loss basis and is around 30k per semester. But there's a provision for a scholarship based on an income of the parents and CGPA which a student gets each semester.

Yes, GP Birla Scholarship is provided to students whose parent's income are less than 2.5 lakh per year based on CGPA : 8 to 8.5 CGPA - 20% Of tuition fee 8.5 to 9 - 40% of tuition fee 9 to 9.5 - 80% of tuition fee 9.5 above - 100% of total fee

The male to female ratio is 70 :30. The college has very talented cultural clubs for the ones interested in dramatics, dance and singing. The college has a cricket and football ground. 2 volleyball courts are there. 1 lawn tennis court. 1 basket ball court . Sport is really taken of pride at the college. We participate in various college fests of IITs, AIIMS etc

The hostel facilities are good. Very clean and hygienic hostel with water cooler on each floor. There is no AC in the hostel. The food is satisfactory but hygienic with the provision of paid foods also that is optional but worth it. LAN is set up in every room . In the first year, you get a 2 bed sharing room but after that single sharing room. The washrooms are also well maintained.

Yes, the alumni are very helpful. They guide the students with the placement. Seniors give a lot of guidance about the semester subjects and all. Many companies come for placement by the referral of the alumni.

We had 2 written subject exam every semester. 1. Mid sem - 25 marks exam for each subject 2. End sem - 60 marks for each subject Rest 15 marks is internal marks which is given by the respective subject teachers based on class tests or presentation. There are lab exams as well for every lab paper present in a semester.

After JEE Mains results are out, I got the form for the admission from www.bitmesra.ac.in. I applied by submitting the priority of the streams I was interested in through a portal. Then they take out various list like 1,2,3 according to the rank of the students starting from the lowest rank. Everything will be reflected in the portal.I was called in the 2nd round.I went and completed all the paperwork and was alloted a branch but it can be upgraded according to the further vacancies.

Maximum faculties are post graduated and very few are of the PHD level. Some of the faculties are very knowledgeable and worth it . The faculties of Mechanical are the best. No tuition classes are provided by the faculties. There are some faculties under whom one can do very important and crucial projects with full help and guidance.
