Fees is basically divided according to your income.For income above 8 lakh you have to pay the full fees ie (70k tution fees and 22.5k hostel fees)per semester and for income between 1-5 lakh 2 /3 of the total fees is wavied out and for income bellow 1 lakh tution fees is wavied out and you have only to pay hostel fees. There are no any specific scholarship that the institution provide but you can avail the education loan from sbi bank inside the campus.

There are mainly two big fest held every year 1) Incandescence-The annual cultural fest of NIT Silchar. It is one of the most awaited events of the college. This falls in the month of February. Students from various college from all over the country participate in this festival. 2) Tecnoesis-Tecnoesis is the technical festival of NIT Silchar.This fest falls in the month of October. Here we see young and energetic minds showing their skills. Various events like Robotics, Paper Presentations, Quizzes & lots of exciting events take place for a span of three days. Library facilities- The central library of NIT, Silchar is a hybrid library with the state-of-the-art technological applications. The library has a separate collection of books There are many clubs in the college which are run by students like GDSC, obeittivo(photography club), Music club, dance club, drama club, startup etc

Since its a NIT , I was enrolled to it through a entrance examination called JEE. JEE stands for Joint Entrance Examination conducted by NTA every year. Being a General canditate I was able to cleared the cutofff of the examination which was 90 percentile in my time an able to get electrical branch in it. There are two parts of JEE i.e Jee mains and Jee advanced. Clearing Jee mains with decent percentile will get you a seat in Nit, Gfti, IIIT etc and by clearing Jee advance you can secure a seat in IIT. The application form for this examination is available in NTA's official website and the fees for application form is rs 1000. There are seat reservation for Sc/st/pwd /obc category and you need to clear the cutoff according to you caregory. Although the admission process in the college could have been better. It is conducted in offline mode and students have to do everything following the admission process without the help of parents. It is better when it is conducted in onlinemode
