Course Curriculum Overview

In webjee councelling, I got selected for this perticular cource from this college. Faculty level is avarage. One or two teachers are hardly helpful . Most of the faculties have done PhD from well known Universities.

Class Size: 73Course Fees: INR 460000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

Total fees of this course is near around 500000 rupees. Basically I belongs to general caste category. So there are no financial assistance I am offerd . My father does a moderate government job so I'm unable to get any scholarship. I am persuing my course fees by education loan with 9.8% interest rate .

Campus Life

There are so many stuffs to do . Every year this college arrange different sports events like cricket, football, table tennis , batminton , race etc. Also we celebrate freshers and farewell parties ..

Admission

I took admission through webjee rank . The addmission process was very lengthy and time consuming . On very that day we had to pay admission fees as well as 1st Semester. My rank was 11k still I had managed to join cse . Cutoff of this college is very low .

Placement Experience:

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

It's my decision from class 12 that I will do civil engineering, so I chose the civil branch, the course curriculum is well and the teaching level is good but the main problem is lab, there is very limited classes for lab, so I think they should improve there.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.

See,I didn't get good percentile in jee advance and so I choose to give wbjee exam to get a seat in engineering colleges and I got a rank of almost 17k where I got cse department in 2nd phase of wbjee counciling.I choose St Thomas College of Engineering and Technology because the fees is very low compare to other colleges as I don't get jadavpur university or any other top in that rank and I am very happy from my decision because of you need a college that gives placement and fees is not too high .This college is best for that....Read More
