Course Curriculum Overview

4

I chose history honours because it was my second preference after the Pol. Sci. Hons in Hindu college which I didn't get. If we talk about faculty student ratio so for that I would say there are 104 students in first year history honours course and there are 3 professors for the first year. And if we talk about the qualifications of professors than I will say only one thing 'Highly Qualified' best in India and they really support you in research if you want to do any and motivates you to ask them questions . Their way of teaching is practical and application based test even in history course. Exams of Delhi University are not easy you have to study these are not like any other regular college exams and most important thing there are marks for attendance so don't skip classes too much.

Internships Opportunities

4

See there are some societies which provide you internships like Enactus, Ecell etc. college also provides you internship like IQAC in which you are paid 10000/month. Apart from these there are many groups and clubs active in college which informs you about different internships at NGOs, Companies and government. Many students get internship on their own through Niti Ayog official website and through internet. NGOs like Naksh Foundation companies like pregrad, Drishthi, Unacademy etc provide internships and other companies like Deloitte also provide it BUT BEWARE OF SCAMMERS AND NETWORK MARKETING GUYS!

Placement Experience

3.5

Generally in Hansraj College most of the students are UPSC Aspirants so they don't sit for any placement but Commerce students do prepare and sit for the placements our college' placement cell is really very active and they bring internships and held various seminars to make students ready for the palcements. Mostly company which comes to our college are from banking, finance, investment and consultancy services the highest package in our college is 35lacs and average is 6 to 7lacks per year. I will not sit for the placement and will prepare for government exam.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees for history honours in Hansraj is 24500/year and if you are from any category like SC/ST/disabled you will get fee concession and after entering college you can apply for scholarship which is provided by college to all students on the basis of family income which should be less than 5lac for which you will get a form and than you will be called for an interview by the college. With this you get other scholarship opportunities also like National Scholarship Scheme by Government of India. You can do internship in hansraj in IQAC in which you will be paid 10000/month for which you have to give interview and get selected.

Campus Life

5

Confluence is the annual fest of Hansraj which is conducted in March and with that there is official fresher and farewell by college and departments and many seminars and events take place every WEEK so campus life on the basis of fest and events I would say there are lots of events everyday! Infrastructure is top notch in Hansraj we have 4ACs in each class with smart boards and smart library, proper sports ground and indoor badminton court and Shooting Range, You will get any book from the library and if not you can inform them and they will provide it next time. There are nearly 50 societies and clubs in Hansraj for different things like dance, drama, sports, quiz, MUN etc. so you have plenty of opportunities and wats to upgrade yourself. There are regular intercollege events held in DU so you have plenty of chances to showcase your talent and win prize.

Admission

To enter into Hansraj College which is a DU college you have to give CUET exam now for this you have to select subjects for exam like history, pol. science, geography and English or any other language is compulsory to select with that for some courses u have to select GAT( General Ability Test) to know which subjects you have to choose to get your desired subject in your desired college you can check that on the official websites of the respective University like for DU you can refer to www.du.ac.in to check about updates. Now if you belong to any category you must have the respective category certificates reservation information you can check on respective universities' websites NEVER EVER LISTEN TO YOUTUBERS CHECK INFORMATION BY YOURSELF. The process of admission to Hansraj College DU from CUET exam to orientation takes around 3 months so this time needs to be shorten and competition for humanities people especially the general category male is tough so all the best.

The course curriculum is a bit too theoretical and less practical. The exams in the college takes places every month which are seasonals and are for internal marking and then we have semester exams in every 6 months which accounts for the external marking.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
